I have a 75 gal. fish tank, and i'm hoping someone here might be able to help. I am going to put African Cichlids in it, i was wondering what kinda of media i should put into it, either chemical or biological.
Thanks!

Lucky for you my dad is a guru at this stuffHe said for his Africans he has a canister filter with all three. He doesn't quite understand what you are asking. Little more specific, hes of the older generation

Yeah I had a 29 gallon reef tank for a long time. My brother had a 75 gallon bow front reef tank and a 20 gallon reef tank.
I was just about to get back into the hobby about two weeks ago when I decided to get back into R/C nitro cars instead.
I still have the tank, Skimmer, Metal halide lights and everything else that goes along with it. One day I guess.
NICEMy dad does all that and makes quite a bit of moulah at the fish auctions further up in the province. I am more into my reptiles, have multiple snakes, bearded dragons (my love of all loves) armadillos, quite a lot here

Sorry guess i coulda said what kinda filter set up i'm going to be using. I have a Rena XP3. And when i was looking up stuff to replace what goes in each of the levels of the filter. And on 3 of the levels it says it "can be used for biological or chemical filtration" so which one do i use? or a combination of both?
He said "if memory serves the filstar comes with multiple baskets? If I am right you should be able to pack bio and chem filter into the baskets and yes a mix would be the best"
yeah there is multiple layers, the bottom layer for coarse foam pads, the next layer up is for fine foam pads, the next three are where it says "can be packed for bio. and chem. filtration" and the next couple layers up if for bio chem zorb and the top layer is a micro-filtration pad.
Where does he recommend to get the bio. and chem. filtration stuff.

ive always been a bio guy.... i just overflow the tank with air bubbles and it gets a nice even ecosystem... my silver sharks love the bubbles. My tank is brackish, i have spotted puffers and silver sharks in it.
BTW Jack Dempseys are FTW!! i love them.
My father has a 200 gallon tank in his basement with a 2 snakeheads and 2 oscars in it. hes had the snakeheads for sooo many years now.
I dont know if you all care for them but Mollys can live in salt water and they actually get some nice color to them. i dont have them anymore cuz i wanted puffers instead but they were cool.
i want to start an arrowana tank. i like the taiwanese or korean ones, i dont care for the amazon ones. any suggestions on them?
Get a magnum 350.
I jut got my bowfront up and running again but have had a big a 90 gal, african cyc tank.
I am about to go to a hot magnum for my bowfront due to the better filtration and sand wont seize the canister filter like it does the power filter.
What kind of africans are you looking at?
Im not sure if a red devil is african or not but if you want a wicked cyclid, get one of those and a bunch of goldfish, the devils eat alot.
This might help...

i had an african and a red devil in the same tank one time
The african ripped him to shreds, of course they were both older. I returned the devil and traded the african in. i decided to go another route.
i dont know howd they be if theyre young.
