Lately i have seen a lot of people wanting out of the gp platform for many reasons
So I figured Id ask why.. I have seen so many that have blown through 2-4 engines and just as many transmissions Why is that...

As for me I love my car I have put over 100 hours worth of random labor into building it and a ton of cash And I am happy with it where its at..

When I got it the coupler was bad in the blower
    the rack was shot
pan leaked and the trans started acting up after i got it
All this was at around 180k and as far as i know the car was stock

I drive hard and beat on her but maintain her and give her the care she needs... besides the standard problems LIM gaskets , Rack going out, and a few minor electrical things These just arent that bad of cars
I do however understand wanting to move on just curious for peoples gp stories

I would trade mine in a heart beat for a ls fbody only due to the fact I miss my 96 trans am and the 6speed not cause im bored with my car or that its a problems car

98 gtp sedan forest green ,S1X intense cam,Intense pcm,Magnaflow exhaust, ubend delete,TEP trans 3.29's,3.4 smoothflow mps,Dyno'd 281hp and 371ft #'s of trq at the wheels

i have taken care of my car, the MAF, fromt sway bar and the intake manifold gasket went bad, everything else has been normal stuff like brakes, oil changes, etc. and it started and got me where i need to go every day ecxept the day the MAF went bad, so its taken care of me. im on the origional drivetrain with 126XXX miles on it and im gonna keep it till it explodes because i like it. so i guess im on the other side of this thread

As I'm probably 1 of the few people in central jersey playing with the w-body platform, I wouldn't ditch it. Its different and fun, comfortable, and you get the wtf face when you get into boost. I would love an f-body or even a cobra or lightning truck but, i wouldn't sell the gp for one of them (not like these cars hold value anyway)

I'm going to stick around for a while playing with these old fwd family cars.

I'm keeping mine because of the fact I like it. No matter how much I gripe about it...once I get back to driving it...it'll be fun. Then let the racing videos begin

From what I've read, most try to fix things half-ass, then when they break again, get frustrated.

IE: Drop the car to the extreme, still using the stock struts because they'll have the look they want and don't want to spend the money on new struts, then ***** afterwards about the ride...
