Re: let me kno what u think?
You'll have slower acceleration because of lower torque at the wheels
More stress on the tranny, but not enough to destroy a HEALTHY one. It'll be like towing a trailer all the time.
Speedometer won't register the correct speed without recalibration.
Better gas mileage.
Poor performance going up hill.
You may have temperature problems when driving in hot weather (like AZ, TX, NM and So CA).

Take a physics class. Then try to come back and prove your smarts to us.
Re: let me kno what u think?
Cutting and pasting stuff you are finding on the web is completely contradicting what you are implying with your set up. Do you even realize that lifting your car is putting your axles at a steeper pitch, which is wearing them out prematurely? The mods on your car are tearing it up. Plain and simple. What you are saying and the info you are pasting into your replies are the complete opposite of what the outcome of your mods are.
Re: let me kno what u think?
all im tryin to say is i havent had a prob, and y would the tranny shop tell me it wont tear it up??
Re: let me kno what u think?
because they are trying to sell you parts. its a good business ethic.
Re: let me kno what u think?
because they want your money? are you new?
Re: let me kno what u think?
Shut it up just shut up shut up. . . Larger, heavier wheels=less rotating mass? This is a public education FAIL.\
Re: let me kno what u think?
how is that when ive had 1st trans replaced from stock wheels, and trans shop says that wheel size doesnt matter and a 2yr warrenty?? i see what you guys are sayin that there heavy and takes more to turn them but if ya dont beat on it how would it tear it up?
Re: let me kno what u think?
who DOESNT beat on their car?
And putting heavier wheels on a car is like constantly driving up a steep hill.
it increases stress. THE END.
Re: let me kno what u think?
imdaman - It's a machine, it breaks. Stock or not, it WILL break eventually. The goal is to have it break later than sooner. If I mod my engine, it will wear out sooner. FACT. Adding bigger, heaver wheels and lift kits will wear out your ball joints, cv shafts, etc sooner than normal. FACT. That's fine if it gets you the look you want. As far as your trans goes, the heavier wheels and tires probably won't be a proven factor of why your trans goes out if it does. Too many variables like driving style, maintenance, quality of the rebuild.

Did you make sure to read the warranty? I just had the trans done in my Park AVE...and it directly says "void if used for pulling a trailer, or if wheel/tire combo is larger than factory." So if this trans goes, you prob won't be getting another one for free.
Re: let me kno what u think?
^^ receipt says moded wheels 24"+ rite on it 2yr warranty with wheels and sighned by owner :th_thumbsup-wink:
