Thread: a newbie wanting to learn more.

as some of u know. i'm fairly new to the site. and well, i'll be the first to admit, that i don't know much about my gtp. its a 98 w/ 56k miles on it. but anyways, i have some questions.

1: what size is the factory pulley on the supercharger?

2: what pound of boost do they put out stock?

3: is the slp cat back sound good?

4: what is the quarter mile on these cars stock?


and as u can tell from my questions. my gtp is stock! (performance wise)

welcome, I will let the others answer the questions as I'm not sure

1. 3.8 inches
2. normally around 7-9 psi It really does vary from car to car.
3. A lot of people tend to like it, a lot of people tend to think it's too loud. It is an aggressive sounding exhaust, maybe finding video clips of it would give you a better idea.
4. Again, this varies from car to car. Some turn a 15.5, others turn a 14.9.

sorry, 2 more questions.

1) i have a button on the shifter for the "performance shift" does this even do anything? is it just stiffen the shifts?

2) is a 3.4 size pulley good for daily driving?

I just got a gtp, but if my previous knowledge is correct, you need some rather big supporting mods to be able to do a 3.4, like ported TB, bigger exhaust (Headers,2.5-3in catback), etc.

and the P-shift changes the shift points for....better performance....not sure if it burns out through the gears a little longer though or changes the trans fluid pressure for firmer shifts

from what I have read (thank you trannyman) the performance shift ups line pressures

so a 3.6 pulley would be the same? or would that work better?
