i have a 2005 grand prix gt. i've seen gt1 and gt2 after the name. what is the gt1 and gt2 mean?

what is the widest wheel that i can fit on the car?
where is the best place that i can get reflective bumper inserts?

right now my car is at the dealer getting looked at for a grinding noise while the car moves in reverse and in drive when coming out of park. does anyone know what would cause this? the first time i took it back to the dealer where i got it and they said they couldn't reproduce the noise...imagine that. the next dealer i took it to said it was the shifter, so they replaces the shifter.

different packages. I believe the GT1 is the cheaper one and the GT2 is the higher end. For 05 I believe there were GT1, GT2, GTP, GXP... in 06 the higher end GT was option with an L32.

I think most folks stay below 9" in width. Most stay in the 7-8" range. The factory default is like 6.5". When you get into the 9" width you run risks of rubbing the strut and hitting the fenders with a width like that.

As for your reflective bumper inserts.....I HIGHLY recommend going to Reflective Concepts. I get ALL my decals and badging done by them! Matt is one kickbutt guy! He wont do ya wrong!

Here is their site. And if you have anything special you would like them to try? You can email them with your ideas and they will try and work with ya on them!

Just different package levels and they changed throughout the years.

what is the widest wheel that i can fit on the car?
As stated, I'd stay 9" or less. All depends on offset, tires, etc. I have 8.5" on my 99. Sorry stock on my 05 Comp G so I can offer personal experience on that specific one.

where is the best place that i can get reflective bumper inserts?
Reflective Concepts are great and a sponsor on GPF! The only place I've ever purchased my vinyl.

Another one that I know quite a few members have gone through as well and been very happy with is House of Grafx (graphicsbyid).

right now my car is at the dealer getting looked at for a grinding noise while the car moves in reverse and in drive when coming out of park.
I had the same problem. Took it in multiple times, but not sure what it was. I've had the shifter replaced and two wheel bearings. Maybe something else fixed as well. Honestly the car could still do it, but I don't notice anymore. It's my workhorse and isn't treated as nicely as I should and this winter especially has been rough on it.

    Good luck!
