So because of some recent events, I am looking at buying a older truck and selling my GP.

What is a good asking price on the 2002 Silver GT Sedan 66k, Mint Condition, 100% stock. Blue book is $5,400 for private party, does this seem fair?

I am looking for a older 4x4 SUV or truck. I need cheaper insurance so any personal experience with high insurance and older 4x4 and what not is appreciated.

6k seems like a good starting price, but I wouldn't expect to get that much.

As for an 4x4... Jeep Cherokee hands down. Find one with a 4.0 inline six and you'll be set. The engine trans and transfer case setup is bulletproof. Ive got an 88 with 197,000 miles on the original drivetrain. Look for a 96+ if you want something really reliable tho. Whats nice about the Cherokee is the transfer case is an actual lever to shift into 4wd, unlike explorers and blazers and s10's where theyre electronic buttons that go bad.

Another guy on this site has 2 Cherokees and 2 Comanche's (Pickup version of the Cherokee) and all 4 have over 200,000 miles I believe.

THANK YOU, I really like the older Cherokee's and I would love to have one.

Just called 9 different insurance places and asked them if I buy a older 4x4 it will be cheaper and 4x4 does NOT make it go up any, 6 of them said they don't know where that started from but it is not true.

Cherokee's have really cheap insurance. I have no record, have PLPD insurance, and its $270 for 6 months...just as reference, hope this helps. Try to find one with 80-100,000 miles if you can. Like I said they can easily go way over 200k, so if you find one for 100k, youd be set for years.

Remember Im talking about the old square Cherokees not the GRAND Cherokee. Those can be trouble...

Was it the same model or was it like a Silverado 2wd and a Silverado 4x4 Z71?
