People expect us to be psychics and automatically know everything about the car they WANT to buy.

Comon stunt, you should know this by now.

ummm off the top of my head some cons are back speakers tend to go out, stock headlights suck, stock exhaust is very restrictive (if you do decide to mod it later). Some pros are they look sexy as hell, GTP's are decently fast, 3800 motors are reliable and last a long time if you take care of it... im sure there is a ton more ppl on here who could add to this list

tranny/motor are very strong. the 3.8 is a very reliable motor and they actually have a 4t65eHD trans. much better than the crappy 4X60e in most other gm vehicles.

motor is probably one of the strongest youll ever find. they run with no oil, they run with chipped pistons, they just straight up run. you have to try to kill a motor. the transmissions do suck when you put enough power to them, but up until then they last so long as youre not an idiot when you drive.

    my gripes about the GP:

    - cant run low offset wheels or really wide tires because of the fenders and strut hats.
    - the stock radio absolutely sucks.
    - the dash is chincy and if you take it apart enough times youll lose all the clips and it will rattle.
    - they DO NOT like to be lowered more than an inch or so.
    - the exhaust note is always ****ty, no matter the setup you have. fact.

    good things i like:

    - cheap to fix and mod because they are EVERYWHERE
    - big, roomy car
    - good for long trips
    - holds a lot of stuff in the trunk

Thats good to hear man.. The last thing i wanted is to get it then something break after some added power.... Is the GTP picky after you add a mod to it like, say a STI(they need a tune after adding ANYTHING LOL) ?...

You dont have to tune but like anything if you want the most potential out of what you just added a tune is good.. Can be fixed by either getting a programmer yourself or modding then tuning.

to some degree, being a forced induction car you have to worry about knock. for the most part you can mod the exhaust, intake etc without problems, but the tune should be one of the first mods anyway. mail order tunes are cheap, probably unlike the STI i bet it isnt cheap to tune it.

yeah a tune to get the max out of it for sure. I was just wondering cause like the sti(for example) with out a tune and added mods, it would run slower then stock..... But yes i would get it tuned. Knock is NO bueno

Its a great sleeper if your going to mod
Just dont buy one that has a bunch of mods already on it

So a little insight, I have been around Grand Prixs since the early 2000's have been owner of at least two and they always have a soft spot in my heart. Even thought current shes not my daily driver i will always own a GP.. Something about these cars and the people that drive them keep me coming back for more. You would not be dissapointed. Even if something does break you have a whole community that is more than willing to help with any question you have "as long as you used the search button first" so to summarize there are things each one of us dont like about the cars but we all stick around because we love em.

intercooler is good for 40-50hp or cam good for 35-50ish with supporting mods
first mod most people want but dont do is headers its best to just save and get headers
