Ya, when I’m ready to buy a new GM vehicle I’ll for sure be looking to their words of wisdom. I checked out a few comments on the apparently severely flawed 2000 Impala. Lots of good stuff, I copied one guy’s useful comments.

CAR WAS GOOD UP TOO 160,000KMS. THEN THE ROOF FELL IN.
NEW OIL PAN,SHOCKS(FR,BK)MAF SENSOR,TIE-RODS AND EXPECTING
    MORE THINS TO BREAK.

Man I’ll never buy an Impala. The damn roof fell in on him, and the oil pan just breaks! The tie rods and shocks also, I want a car with great suspension so that isn’t good news. I want to be able to drive like a maniac and do zero maintenance. And the MAF sensor, it is just a sensor it should last forever, right? I want a car that “thins” don’t break on!

Thanks to the power off the internet I can learn from car experts the world over.

Ten years of continuous driving excitement and counting!

Your better off to visit forums like these that are interactive and vehicle specific.

    Exactly.

"My waterpump started leaking at 115,000 miles!! No wonder GM is bankrupt, Im never buying GM again."

That crap grinds me to no end.

I like to stay away from sites like that because people complain about the smallest things and spin it into a huge ordeal. Example: On a "car problems" website some guy had his display bulb burn out on his 00 Grand Prix, so he forks over the 500 bucks for a new radio, then chews out GM for making faulty electronics...

People like that are stupid. Shocks should have been replaced well before that even though they are struts.

These "experts" are the johns dealerships and the jiffy lubes of the world prey on.
Learn how to use a wrench and socket set and the world is yours.
I was happy when I found my water pump leaking on my Monte (better than the coolant going through the head gasket). You have to have a glass half full attitude.

i wouldn't say all that, to stay away.. cause for example, there are several 06 impala's that had flaws where they caught fire...hell I didn't know that but also like the issue with the 02 altima's cat breaking and high oil consumption. If I would had found that site a few days ago, my wife wouldnt had bought that damn altima.

there is good in that site. I was only looking at the high flaws and recalls on specific vehicles.

I don't bother listening to ppl's complaints on their dash cracking and junk, was just curious on certain car years that have fires and low milage engine failure. or a early drivetrain problem.

Yeah I guess thats what I meant to say. Actual mechanical issues that could pop up in the car you may buy, its useful. But you have to really sift through the BS that some people post up.
