Im with what your saying on that Mine had almost 190000 mile on it so it was time
But im assuming with a turbo build you are pushing higher hp and actually going to see some track time
Thats just where my thought proccess is

Just need the guidance and the moral support while building but thats why I have you guys.

Just curious, are you planning on building your own turbo setup or doing a kit? I've seriously thought about going this route, for years now infact. Seems like there are alot of headaches too. I don't know what i'll do.

I've been running the same basic setup since 2007 and i'm ready for something a little different. I'm still on my original 170,000 motor without any issues. Thinking of either going with an L36 and a heads/cam combo, or pull my motor, rebuild it with forged slugs, heads, cam, and maybe juice in the future. I really don't know what route I wanna go.

Hey guys, Lets say you are willing to spend 1k on your car and it is stock, What mods would u purchase?

I'm thinking a nice set of wheels and tires. Possible pcm/tune

X2 Here. I spent way too much money on my stereo vs modding the car to make it faster. I've bought two downpipes where i could have had Headers all along. But i've got a set on the way from the factory right now.

You make good point. Headers, Tune, Pulley, tstat. I already have a 4" FWI, which i may end up redoing, the filter is getting wet in the rain lol

What did u have in mind? I might put it back in the engine compartment. I noticed no difference in times when i ran with and without the driver side headlight.

there's 100 different opinions, but my cone filter goes sraight into the fender . it sticks in their about 4" or so. i don't think it would be a measurable difference if it is all the way down in the filter or just laying inside on the inside of fender. i thinks the biggest difference is not have corragated hoses and sharp bends. what i've read, keep it smooth and straight as POSSIBLE!

Yea, i have 4" pvc with hole drilled in for the sensor. My filter is completely in the fender well and i have insulation wrapper around the pvc and sealed the filter off from the engine bay compartment. I have not driven with the stock box hooked up ( which is in the garage ) so idk if there are gains or not lol
