Offer him $500 for both since they are both worth scrap and the few parts you might be able to pull off them.

I saw one on a Insurance Site that had either 280k or 310k on a 3100 in a 90s Malibu, I was quite surprised.

Yeah I could but they were beat. He had a LOT of useless parts on the Regal. new timing chain?, shortened dogbone mounts w/ poly bushings (on a stock car??), water pump, made his own MSD plug wires (lol), said he rebuilt the s/c (most likely just replaced the coupler), motor mounts. He said he had cloes to $700 in parts on the regal and the motor tanked 5-6 miles later. Meh. He really wouldn't budge off the $800. You should see his text messages back and forth. At one point I asked him "I know it's a $500 car but can you tell me any more about it".. He replies "what do you mean $500 car".. WTF?

sigh.
