How many times have you heard the "leaky head gaskets" problem???

I would bet money it needs a LIM gasket replacement. Replace the other gaskets while your in there and I bet it would be golden. Hardly runs because I bet it getting coolant into the cylinders and motors don't run well on 93/Dexcool mixtures.

I would start at $1000 meet at $1500, put $200 in gaskets in, flush the coolant, service the trans and I bet she runs like a raped ape.

^ yup I constantly find GP on Craigslist that have head gasket issues I'm sure 99% really don't have that issue and just need the lim changed and some oil changes. I didn't have cash at the time to buy another car so I passed but tried to educate a body of mine that was trying to find a car for his gf.

I got my tax refund today, so I am in the market for a GTP/Regal GS for 2k or less. Ready to upgrade my DD from the old 99 century I got. I would be more interested in this car, but the 200k miles part makes me kinda iffy, that and it isnt a coupe. Who knows I might go offer them 1k and see what happens!

These cars can run forever if maintained so I wouldn't worry to much about the 200k. The tranny itself could be a problem. If he is really trying to get rid of it especially if his wife's is making him. Ask him to show you the car go to his house and hopefully his wife is there. Make it seem like a few things are going to need to be replaced like coughtheheadgasketscough and then offer him 1k cash. If his wife is there I'm sure she tell him you better take it vs him saying no because he thinks its worth 2k

I would rather lose by a mile because I built my own car, than lose by an inch, because someone else built it for me. Your car is your story, so don't let someone else write the book.
