So I bought this GTP for $1,200 a few weeks ago and figured I'll start a thread and keep it updated.

So far I have done the following...

    • Complete Tune Up - Plugs, wires, pcv, fuel filter
    • Mobil 1 Oil Change
    • Coolant Flush - Installed 160* Thermostat
    • Transmission filter, gasket, new fluid, and a bottle of Lucas
    • Both rear struts were replaced with monroe quick struts
    • Moog sway bar links front and rear
    • Both Front Wheel Bearings
    • Deleted Cat, Resonator, and U-Bend
    • Installed Thrush Glass Pack, Turbo Mufflers, and a Spark Plug Anti-fouler for the rear o2 sensor
    • Installed Shocker Sticker in upper right hand corner of rear window
    • Installed SD2 Ram Air Hood
    • Replaced trunk lid with a Limited Edition truck lid with spoiler
    • Painted interior trim Metallic Silver
    • Installed Boost Gauge
    • Installed System - 7" TV,DVD,NAVI, 2 12" JL W3s, 1600watt Kenwood Amp, Capacitor
    • Installed 10k HIDs
    • Installed Hood Pins

Waiting for my Yellow fog light bulbs and HID relay harness to show up in the mail.

Next on my list is a PCM and a tranny as I have no overdrive...

    Here is some before pics...

And here is some recent pics...

I plan on starting body work soon. So I can get it painted in the spring. I'm thinking either keep it black or If I want it to stick out, go with the Lexus is300 Metallic Blue or Cadillac's Electric Blue... whatcha guys think?

the boost gauge is pretty awesome. before you paint it get the roof-rails to go with the hood and spoiler, that combo would look pretty damn good IMO

Ew? How? Looks good for what it is. Sure once everything is painted it'll look sharp. My only thing is the tips. I'd install some since it looks odd with such a small outlet hole in the giant bumper cutouts haha.

On a side note, your transmission doesn't have overdrive? Are you sure? the "overdrive" is actually the trans downshifting. That being said, it will only downshift at certain speeds. IE. 2nd to 1st... Once passed 35 it'll just stay in second.

One more thing.. If you want to get a little more flow, go down to Autozone or Homedepot and pick up a small 60* elbow to replace the stock intake piping.

Yea, the 4th gear is sheared... once you get into overdrive it just drops to idle rpms and slips until it shifts back into 3rd. So I just put it in 3rd all the time now instead of D. She drives great, just the gas mileage is taking a beating.. getting about 18-19 mpg.

Yea havent got a pair of tips yet, but that is on the to do list... just not that important so it can wait for now... PCM and Tranny first.

Got that trunk lid and hood from my friend at the junk yard for $100 for the pair. So I couldn't say no to should a good deal. otherwise that would have waited also.

How much are people charging to tune? Or should I just get the DHP PCM v1.0 for $100 from 3800performance?

Just because it was $600 doesn't mean it's a piece of crap. If there was something wrong with it it's obviously fixed now. I like his car, it's clean, and still looks awesome. And I wish every day of winter that I lived in Florida.
And as for the poster's car, looked alot better in the before pics. BUT I'm sure it'll look awesome once it's painted one color. I don't like the spoiler, but to each his own I guess.

IMO, wing is dumb, hood is dumb, under the hood is nasty as hell, 10 different color's, ugly wheels, ect.

Well what do you expect for a project car that cost nearly next to nothing. At least he is trying to make something that was obviously jacked up, restored to something better looking.
