So as some of you may know, I had a $500 97 Grand Prix. It had a bunch of problems and due to my negligence in fixing the water pump it overheated. It's probably going to cost more than it's worth to fix, so I'm selling it. I'm now in the market for a new car (Budget is about $3,000) and found this on Craigslist.
1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT---Excellent Condition
My dad test drove it today (I'm at work right now) and says it's in great condition. Apparently everything works and it looks really nice. It's a 99 GT 3.4 L for $3,000. 85,000 miles. Is that a good deal? It's by far the nicest car I've found so far on Craigslist that doesn't have problems. I'm going by tomorrow to get a better look at it and buy it if I like it.
I've had a 97 Grand Prix GT 3.8 with a ton of problems, so I know what to look for, but does anyone have any tips on things I should check? My dad did notice a sound when turning the A/C on, so I don't know if that's a belt or the compressor or what. I'm seeing it tomorrow morning, so any advice or tips before I see it and buy it would be very appreciated.
