What in the world is a "chiped piston"? what would cause a piston to "chip"?
It is like a "chip off the old block"? or is it like "chipping" someones tooth in a fist fight? Is it anything like the "chip" in my kitchen sink? or could it be similar to the "chip" in my paint on my car?

on these motors if youre pushing too much heat around the motor (boost) and you let your tune get away from you for even a fraction of a second the piston tops chip off because of the piston rings expanding and contracting because of the heat. 99% of the time it chips a piece off in the 1 o'clock area on the piston. tons of people drive around like this until they take the motor apart and see that its missing a piece, but during that time the car seems to run funny.

you either chip a piston, break a rod, or punch a hole in the piston. that is how you destroy these motors. just about any other way besides spinning a bearing is very unlikely.
