So ive gottta attach some rocker panels to replace the ones that are rotting away on my car.. ive got some areas where i can drill and screw it into place, but overall i wanna add something to help bond it permently, because what im screwing into is rusted...

so ive got a package of some Insta-weld stuff (not jbweld but same kinda idea with less curetime)
and a Tube of PL Premium Construction Adhesive

now i know for a fact PL will bond anything to anyhting within 24 hrs and then its never comming apart..

i wonder if its wrong to use it LOL.. i will also be fiberglassing in the top of the panel to help cover the very obvious seam

also, ive toyed with the idea of bondo-ing in the GT sideskirts, give it a more custom look less stock.. anyone object???

Ive put this in the lounge becuase really i just want opinions and more people pay attention to this area lol despite my long ass post.

I have thought about the same thing on Prixs that have rusted rockers.

The hard part is like you said, attaching the new rockers to something solid. To fasten I thought of stainless screws, pop rivets or silicone. Or all! I suppoose you could treat the rusted metal with a rust inhibitor too.

yeah ive got rust inhibiting spray, stainless/primed screws, and some kinda adhesive...

i cant weld it becuase i do not have the tools to accomplish that task lol That and to help prevent further decay im spraying the front and back side of the panel before attaching it to ensure its coated nice

if I were you, i'd look around and find someone to weld them on for you. It would be the best way IMO...

Post pics and start a thread on your progress! I am sure there are others that would like to see this and keep their Prixs looking good for a few more years.

    Good luck!
