Copied my post in response to this thread on our local board.
Not to sound ruthless, but this really comes as no shock to me. I saw him out at the GoodGuys show the year before last and he looked absolutely awful. I was amazed at home much better they can make someone look on television.
Even if you didn't like the guy, he did do a lot for the hot rodding community, and for that he will be missed.
I was never a fan of his, but he did do a ton for hot rodding, and will be missed
i just got chills man thats sad 63 thats young R.I.P.
This is unbelievable, so I guess no more possiblility in my hoping tha american hot rod would come back on discovery.
It is a terrible loss for the hot-rodding community.... He will be missed,
I hope he has kids to carry on his business, It would suck for his company bearing his name to die with him
Yeah he has Chris who is active in the company and designs every single one of their show cars and most of the cars they sell without being custom made specifically for a single person (like the boydster).
I never liked the guy, he was a dick to everyone.
This is a shocker. I wonder what will happen to the company....
Who knows what will happen to his company, but I am wondering if his fued will live on with Chip Foose and/or if chip will try to buy the company out and take the remainder of his employees.
Sad... Boyd did alot for the hot rod community.. First Rex Orr .. now Boyd C... What's next??? grrrrrrrrrr
Wow that's sad. He made some amazing hot rods. I just met him a couple years ago too at the Good Guys Nationals in Ohio. Big loss to the automotive community in my opinion.
