A guy I work with had a Impreza that ran like a Raped Ape. Although, I know a cobalt SS around here that can walk away from Foxbodies like they're nothing. Those two would be my vote.
thank you brian for being logical. i didnt ask if i should get a GTO or a vette, i asked between those three cars.
the impreza will be the slowest, but handle the best and sound the coolest. it also has four doors which i wouldnt mind having after owning a coupe for so long.
the cobalt will be the quickest out of the three and most likely the most fun to drive from stop light to stop light. it will also have the most aftermarket and mod-ability.
the civic...i dont know why i picked that, but i cant say they are bad cars. the SI is fairly quick and the 6 speed is just straight up nice.
so again, does anyone have any logical opinions?
I was dead even with my friends 07 civic si, from a slight roll to about 80 then he had almost a half car on me...we both ran just about the same time at the track with really close trap speeds. He ran a 15.2 and i ran a 15.3, my trap was a tad less, mine was 88 and his was about 90.Quote:

I'd say cobalt SS.
Best looking, most fun, decent gas mileage, American so parts will be cheap, not terrible in the snow, good aftermarket. Seems like the most logical choice to me.
like i said, im going to test drive the subbie and the SS and see which one i like more. i have a feeling its going to be the subbie though.
if it were me id probably go with the ss. thats just looking at pictures and specs tho. it may be different if i were to test drive it or something. it all comes down to what you want out of it and what you like. all 3 are solid choices. but ya you never know till u get some seat time. let us know how it goes.
at this point its all down to the test drive.. like you said, they both have pro's and con's
ill be driving one of these suckers home on saturday if everything goes my way.

Ok, I'll be honest. Here it is from my point of view...my choices, and why.
1) Subaru
Good: AWD, Boxer motor is a good stout motor and can even take boost well if you want to throw a WRX/STi Turbo Setup on it, 4 Doors...and looks the best out of the group.
Bad: Clutches always tend to **** on them easy and anything more than a oil change is going to need a weekend of time to do...a Downpipe/Uppipe/CAI/STi IC Upgrade took a FULL day with 2 people.
2) Cobalt SS
Good: Value, Cheapest of the group when it comes to repairs IMO, easy to work on, HUGE aftermarket, great MPG's, best DD of the group performance wise.
Bad: Ricey Wing, Cobalt cheapo interior is nothing better than the LT I drive to work everyday, steering is VERY numb and ride quality is pretty harsh IMO.
3) Civic Si
Good: Again great MPG's and huge aftermarket, Honda resale value, can take pretty much anything you throw at it...hell the D15 SOHC's even have run with water instead of oil LOL, Reliability, and anything costs $27.83 + S&H on a Honda, motor, transmission, chassis...you name it :p
Bad: It is a Honda, VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETEC means for horrible DD'ing unless your wrapping it to 6 grand every shift (many magazines talk about the lack of low end for town driving), Tin can exhaust note and Honda buzzsaw deceleration, holy in your face NASA tach and speedo digital readout drove me insane when I beat one to piss at Tiffany Springs Honda before I bought the GTP, hell the Terminator I drove felt more tame and not as wirey as the Civic...if that makes sense.
All in all man, it is up to you. I still love the Scooby and the boxer exhaust note is like nothing else. Not sure how far your willing to go but I searched cars.com for Subaru's 100 miles from Milwaukee and here are a few I came up with...low miles, manual, and under 15K...I like the second one to be honest :D

Nick If it was my choice I would put them in this order and this is why.
1. Subbie - due to the fact of the snow you get there the AWD will be a huge asset, the boxer motor is a stout motor that can take some pretty good punishment, 4 doors because if you gotta cart people around it seems more practical
2. Cobalt SS- #1 ITS AMERICAN, two; the aftermarket for these seems endless, DD factor, these are great to DD. I have driven one and the fun factor is GREAT! Fun from stop light to stop light:th_thumb-up: The interior leaves a little to be desired but that is minor. The seats a comfortable and good handling.
3. Civic SI- I two would be intrigued with driving another 6 speed ( HAD A 2002 WS-6 TA) but other than that I don't really like these to much.

it really comes down to which one i like more when im driving it as far as gearing, powerband, comfort, and handling. i dont want to drive a rice rocket everyday and i know if i get the cobalt i WILL mod it. having four doors would be killer for me since i do drive people around every so often and i wouldnt mind having the AWD.
i will be going out in the next two days to try out the cobalt and the impreza to see which one i like more. we'll see when the time comes to pick. if the dealership will give me $1000 for my car on trade in im taking it, which will take away the hassle of having to sell it. IF YOU WANT MY CAR TELL ME NOW! $1500 AND ITS YOURS, EVERYTHING ON IT. I'LL EVEN THROW IN ALL THE SPARE PARTS I HAVE LYING AROUND!
go with the imprez. colbalt looks so goofy with the HUGE wing. the wing doesn't even look like it belong there.
I guess i would pic the colbat. I think its a tad bigger on the inside.
