    Nice car.

My co-worker has a 2005 WRX and with only a tune and a turbo back exhaust he put down 285 hp at the wheels. Keep in mind that his is not an STI.

You'd be surprised. I have a coworker with an 04 WRX. He has the STI short block with the WRX heads. An upgraded turbo and some tuning/ flow mods and he's putting a little over 300WHP in a 3200lb car.

Stock STI's dyno around 245-250WHP. Stage 1 tune only on a stock STI will yield about 290WHP.

yeah, that's plausible but, he said non-sti, with a catback is almost 300whp...come on

I was right sabre this is what i was guessing/hoping u had in mind. Good choice. im extremely jealous! I wasnt originally a fan of the new hatches but they have grown on me severely and i would absolutely love to have one. i wish i had flogged my gtp for an outback or legacy a few months ago like i was going to. then id have awd and a properly running car right now!

Nice car man. Very nice. I personally like the older ones, especially the older 2 door models, but thats nice. I like the way they incorporate the musical notation of the # (sharp) symbal...

Very astute observation. It does help keep the controls less cluttered.

I've been having fun in parking lots.

The thing is that a lot of the stuff he does requires the ~550WHP he has. When you have AWD, wide tires, and an awesome handling suspension, it takes power to keep them all spinning constantly to pull that stuff off.

But it currently handles like a dream anyway. Really hard to make it come unglued.

Well, like I said earlier. The Stage 1 tune is another 40HP on the dyno. That's easily reversed any time you have to go to the dealer. Other than that I might make a few handling mods but that will be it.

Damn good choice on the platform man...I'm not a big fan of the new ones...I think they kinda took away from the rally bred style and put more comfort into them when it was tested that the new WRX is faster than the STi (both R&T and C&D tested), but...they are nice I LOVED the last gen '06? I think body style after the bug eye scoobie's. And for the 300whp with a turbo back and tune...those things are VERY detuned from the factory...very easy to crank out 300whp in those cars. I had A LOT of trouble with a '06 with just a tuned/CAI/3" Up and Down Piped STi a few months back...since then he has done a Boost controller, 3" turbo back, FMIC, and a new tune...so god only knows.

I know they are expensive but I hear Perrin has a bunch of goodies for the new body style. Good luck modding man...AWD sure is fun

That was 2008. 2009 Subaru realized their mistakes and things changed.

That's exactly what I don't like about them. That and their fragile drive lines. I think they look like ass and wasn't impressed when I drove one.

i think the X is ugly as hell but the IX is a good looking car. ummm yeah I've heard rumors of their drivetrain giving out under modding. although I hate mitsu, must admit, I think subu is a much better company good choice...
