Anyone know how to get your cars number? from off the assembly line?

I see all these SS camaros and such with their build numbers....

Positions 12-17 of the VIN number is the Plant Sequence Number.

On my GTP my Plant Sequence Number is 119294, my build date is 08/2001. I would have thought it would have been a lot lower if the two were related.
