No - I can read just fine, thanks. Will you just try and compare APPLES to APPLES man...
Like this...for instance...(I've put the best in bold to make it easy for you)
2009 G37 AWD Sedan
MSRP = $41,000 (approx)
BHP = 328
FT/LB Torque = 269
0-60 = 5.0s
1/4 = 13.9s
2009 G8 GT
MSRP = $32,000 (approx)
BHP = 355
FT/LB Torque = 385
0-60 = 5.3s
1/4 mile time = 13.7s
So...I'm really confused on this one...as far as you stating that the G37 is WAYYYYY better than the G8. "Period"

The 2005 CTS-V had 395 HP vs. 416 for a 2009 ISF. 0-60 for BOTH was 4.6s and 1/4 times are 12.9 for the ISF and 13.1 for the CTS-V.
Clincher (again)= MSRP for the CTS-V = $47K, ISF = $57K...
As for which car is sexier - it's 100% opinion of course - but IMHO, the ISF couldn't carry the CTS-V's dipstick.
I rest my case. Again.

Re: which is a better car
^^ Your comparing a V6 Coupe to a V8 sedan, it's really not the same, also the G37 is more of a luxury car than anything. If you wanted to compare it like that put the G8 against a Z...also this is more fair, and proves a good point about the G8.
2009 Dodge Charger R/T
MSRP = $32,000 (approx) $32,160 to be exact.
BHP = 368
FT/LB Torque = 395
0-60 = 5.1s
1/4 mile time = 13.7s
Length = 200.1
2009 G8 GT
MSRP = $32,000 (approx)
BHP = 355
FT/LB Torque = 385
0-60 = 5.3s
1/4 mile time = 13.7s
Length = 196.1

"comparing a v6 coupe to a v8 sedan"...uhhh...what?? Look again. I'm comparing makes/models that YOU brought up. Every single time I break down a comparision - or dispute a claim that you drop - you change the criteria...or the vehicle class...or it's a Wednesday and a guy named Bill was driving, etc etc etc. Whatever.
I'd put the G8 GT against the 350Z - all...day....long. That isn't even a fair fight.
Is the G37 more luxurious than a G8 GT? Again - that's an opinion - not a definable fact - like HP or TQ or MSRP, etc etc. Personally - I think the G37 is butt-ass ugly - always have, old or new generation. It's boring and plain and completely living on badge alone.
No question that the '09 Charger and the 09' G8 GT are in the same class, and are damn close in performance. But again - I'd sure as hell notice a G8 GT before any Charger - even though I see one every time I turn around.

Re: which is a better car
If your responding to the thread than it's really unfair, he's comparing a GTO to a G8 to a G37 and just because they all start with a G doesn't make them in anywhere near the same class lol.
The G37 is built to be a luxury car and that's all I was saying, I'm not sure I'd jump and go buy one either but I was just pointing that out.
The Charger and G8 can very well be compared and the Charger comes out slightly ahead but I'm with out that with styling the G8 looks a LOT better. If it were the Challenger instead of the Charger now that's a different story. On the other hand for 2-3k more you can get an AWD Charger and if you think about that you've got 360 hp AND AWD which is amazing because it'll be good off the line with plenty of power to back it up (unlike the G37).

A few things here to back Swash up. The AWD Charger's are slower than the RWD ones...basically because of the fact they have to add at least a few hundred pounds for the AWD system...it is a waste unless you like the Charger and live where there is crappy weather all the time. And last I checked the 5.7 liter HEMI only pushed out 340hp and 390 ft. lbs. of torque. Run that through the AWD system and figure your basic 40% drivetrain loss for AWD and you've got a even bigger tub of lard on your hands, not to mention the handling aspects are FAIL. And do yourself a favor Danny and go look on youtube at all of the G8 GT vids stock for stock with Chargers...most Charger's have trouble running out of MID 14's. That is AT LEAST a second off of the G8...but I'm just saying. OH and for the record...G37 with bolt-ons ran a 14 flat all night long a few months ago at KCIR...and it was tuned for them...because I know their ECU's don't like mods. Still slow. I ran 13.8's with rockers and a 3.5" for about what...MAYBE 10 grand including the car. Compare that.
And don't start in with the Challenger. It too is way to heavy in comparison to the G8. The R/T Challenger can't even muster a 13 second 1/4 mile stock...and don't go by magazine tests because they go by PERFECT conditions and professional drivers. Only thing worth comparing there is the SRT8 Challenger and for that price you can get a G8 GXP and run toe to toe with it, if not beat it for cheaper.
And on the G37 with the AWD, it has it's perks for launch, but the G8 still beats it, hands down, AND is cheaper. And look at it this way. For the money you save on the G8 GT or GTO, you can run bolt-ons and better tires and blow the friggen doors off of the G37, let alone even higher dollar cars like your IS-F...which btw is the ugliest damn car Lexus has ever produced. All a Lexus is anyways is a Rebadged Toyota...who cares.

The G35/G37 were actually built to be the non-kidney blending version of the 350Z - so still a sport-touring class car. The 350Z corners like it's on rails -but hot damn does that thing ride hard. The G37 (sedan) and the G8 were built and marketed with targeting the M3 in mind. IMO - the G8 succeeds and the G37 fails in this attempt. That being said - the G8 is NO M3 - but then again it's damn near half the price of it. Fitment and refinement on the M3 are eons better than the G8 - even as good as it is, which is damn good. The G37 sedan is just fugly (again, my opinion). I don't think it's sexy in the least - it's boring and just ....round.
As for the GTO - this is the oddball of the group. It somewhat compares to the G37 coupe - but that isn't really even a comparison, either. The GTO is a no-frills, no bells and whistles muscle machine. It doesn't have particularly pleasing exterior styling, but for the pure hp/dollar factor - it beats the other 2 hands down. If you want to start talking which is better to mod - again - the GTO, hands down. The interior of the GTO is great, IMO - but it isn't "luxurious" either. But then again - I don't know of a single GTO owner that bought it looking for luxury, either. ;) As for buying a Challenger over a GTO...that's a tough one. Chrylser got...no NAILED, the exterior styling on it - and the GTO is damn plain by comparison. But, like the 2010 Camaro - I cannot get past the abortion of a dash that they threw in there - it's putrid. But again - I paid ~$13K for my '04 GTO with 29K miles on it - about a year and a half ago. Pretty sure you won't touch a <4 year old G37, G8 GT, or a Charger/Challenger for that.
And I can run past all of them for around $600, a tool box and about 8 hours. :)

Re: which is a better car
RWD: Curb Weight (lbs) = 3972
AWD: Curb Weight (lbs) = 4161
Not even a 200 lb difference. The 2009 Models also have more HP (368) than the previous years. Once again every test thus far has been the 2008 Charger which is not as beefed up as the 2009 model.
The G35/37 aren't in the same class as either of these cars anyways.
I only referred to the Challeger for styling to say that: Charger < G8 < Challenger.
The G8 GXP is very slow and for the money useless to be honest.

Yup your right on that one lol. Only thing I'd get for between 50-60k is the CTS-V, other than no four doors really compare.
Re: which is a better car
Still. Adding a charger in there is just boring. So what. You see chargers everyday and there boring as hell. And like bluegtp said u can't go off of magazine numbers cuz they have prof drivers and perfect weather conditions. I've raced chargers before and their slow as hell. ALL mopar stuff is slow cuz they are friggin land yachts. I really can't see 28 hp making that much of a difference. I would put the charger and g8 in the same categorie. But they are two different animals. AND the g8 is much better lookin in my opinion. Seems like everyones got their own opinion and that's okay. But for the people who are tryin to say that they have facts and one car is better then the other are just wasting time. I still think I would take a g8. The gto would be a cheaper choice but I think I like the styling of the g8 better. As far as I'm concerned screw infinity. But that's just me. What people need to remember when talkin on this subject is not everyone is concerned so much with how fast their car is compared to another. Some don't care that their car isn't quite as nice as another car. It just depends on who ur talkin too. And yeah lexus is an overpriced toyota! Lol!

Why do you say that? The GXP outperforms the M5 - faster than either Dodge SRT8 product, and certainly faster than the G37 - in any trim. And...it's cheaper than the Challenger SRT8, by about 3 grand.

It outperforms the V10 M5 with 500 HP haha, where are you getting your facts?
My point was that the G8 GXP is overpriced and useless compared to the regular GT considering the small power difference.

Besides u can't tell me there is a lot of people out there who think that all of us are dumb for buyin a four door 6cyl. Grandma car look alike. I love my car. The looks,performance,the online support of fellow gp people. BUT I bet a lot of guys don't like our cars. Me personally, I like a good blend of looks and perfoemance. I wouldn't want a car that looked great but was slow as hell. And I wouldn't want a car that ran 8 second quarters but looked like poop. That's why I picked my gp. My next car will be the same way. As far as im concerned, I've got two choices. Either a g8 gxp. Very nice car. OR a 20** something ford lightning. I know they aren't the most awesome trucks but I like havin a truck if I need one and there is something cool about a s/c v8 truck. That's just me

Re: which is a better car
im not saying that there is any one car to start out with to make fast. any car can be made fast with the right amount of money. i want a car that i can cruise in now. my GP is old and not reliable. i want something that is quick enough to keep me interested, but not a pile of junk.
i am moving on to bikes for my fast vehicle.
Re: which is a better car
I'm kind of a purist - so I will probably always stay with American muscle when I want go-fast goodies. If I wind up keeping my goat - she is getting some much needed love and improvements over the winter. But don't get me wrong - I have a buddy that owned an 89 Supra that was just obscene - TT, 19PSI...and just killing Vipers, Z06' like they were Yugos. It's a sexy looking car, too. Just not one that I would own, that's all. I'm a bit different than most - a Honda Civic with neons, a triple decker rear wing, and a Folger's exhaust is what I call rice. An Evo or STi that is blown out, pumping stupid amounts of boost and is tastefully done - is not rice - just another form of muscle, IMO. I can appreciate the time and ingenuity - but most importantly the dedication and originality.

Your right, and I've always liked GP's and that's why I picked up mine. I'm not the type to hate on anyone for getting a car that they like and making it their own (just like I've done) but some people get cocky and half the time their parents pay for it which I don't like at all.
If my GP was S/C I'd probably be more happy with it anyways lol.
F150 S331 Saleen 550 HP S/C = Me nutting my pants multiple times and being amazing, also it's sexy as f*ck!
