here, honestly. the link is on CGP if you want to read:

    LINK

but, if you want to skip that..my oil pressure gauge is going crazy. isnt constant and does not work well overall. would it be the sending unit? can i fix this without buying a new gauge? electronic gauge.

your oil pressure sending unit is messing up. this is located on the oil filter housing. you will be able to see it from the wheel well. all it does is screw into the housing on the pressure side.

all you have to do for replacement. is to disconnect electrical connector, either drain oil if car has been run, or if cold....you are just able to unscrew it...oil will come out...if engine has been run.

then just clean up the threads...get the oil off of it. then use teflon tape on the threads of the new sending unit...screw it in till tight. and plug in sensor and you are good to go!!!!

gauge should work perfect. those go out constantly in the 93-97 Z28's.

I would say the sending unit is the problem too (without reading the CGP thread). These are fairly common to go bad. Replace it and see from there.

its pretty static at the top end of the gauge and when i let off the gas or idle it just jerks all over the place. i was pretty sure it was the sending unit, but i wanted to see what others thought.

found the one i need at summit, what is the thread size? 1/8-27? 3/8-18?

    it should be 1/8 NPT.....

I'd just get an oem....they care cheap.

if the new sending unit does not cure it....pull the pan...and retorque donw the oil pick up.....
