#1 please do a lighter background... i don't like the black background and I'm pretty sure most people don't.... can you use a white base?

Sites use plain backgrounds for a reason.... think of the most successful sites on the net... Yahoo, Google, Ebay, Amazon, Expedia... etc.. all have a few things in common and a plain background is one

The background is pretty light, very light in fact. There are skins you can choose to make it dark however, if you wish.

We won't be getting a new permanent layout I'm sure until we upgrade to IPB 3.0

They did, this is why the forum is no longer just for DHP customers and we're doing something new with it, and no he doesn't.
