Anyone know? It looks like ClubGTO: Your late-model Pontiac GTO Club & Resource! was created and is owned by Mike N. But doesn't look like it is doing very well. Anyone know what the scoop is?

Yeah, that is what I figured too. But I just thought I would have heard about it before...but I hadn't. Just curious to why it seems to have never taken off and been abandoned.

Well for one it looks like you have to register to even view the forum. I dont know about you but I hate ploys like that. That to me just clearly screams the only thing that is important is membership numbers rather than being a part of something.

Next, there are other GTO forums out there that are doing fairly well. In fact I ran across one with over 7000 members and a couple others with 500+ members.

I also know that there are several current or former Grand Prix owners that have a GTO and they may have been left with a bad impression from the way things go over at the other site to join yet another run by the same person. But that is speculation on my part alone.

I know Mike N. has/owns several sites as when I inquired about becoming a sponsor at CGP and got a response from him a couple weeks later his only response was "which domain"? That was it. So when I looked into it I found out that he runs a few other sites. His first response coupled with the cost compared to other sites, with much more traffic turned me away from being a sponsor there.

So it doesnt surprise me that that site isnt doing well. And I dont imagine it will do much better for now with the GTO out of production for a year or so but I guess only time will tell that story.

I also noticed that the license runs out in March for the site. So it may go down...

Not necessarily. ClubGP comes up every October, I would assume it will be renewed.

Who knows it could be one he just let sit by the wayside (last post was 10/23/07):
210 Registered users have made 295 posts in 25 forums. There are currently 77 topics.

I have been able to read all posts and go to all links on the site. Actually by the member list quite of few from ClubGP past and present. Just a few Brian Thomasiewicz, Neal Steffek, Scott Cook, Rex Orr, etc.

I agree there are popular ones out there, out of production, and so on. All things that I don't see him fighting for. I'm sure he has just gone through the list and snatched whichever domains might have benefit him. ClubG8 is ClubGP as well.

Does Mike N. even own a GTO? Probably just another way for him to make money.

It's owned/hosted by Mike. If you look at the 'Contact Us' Page, it's set up for his home address for FXOL. So, he's connected to it in a way.
