Many of you contact me throughout the day on instant messenger. I try to respond as quickly as I can unless Im just getting swamped at work.
However in about a week the company has deemed it necessary to start blocking all instant messenger traffic that is not originated on the company approved client. I currently use Pidgin for contacts outside of work.
I guess they are afraid we are going to give away company secrets or network secrets or any number of things. I cant see their concern, I certainly cant think of anything that I know that Id be willing to give away for free. Offer me enough money and maybe we can talk
So until I find a messaging client that wont trigger their software alerts (Ive tried Trillian before and they usually send me a message within a few days that I need to remove it or they'll do it for me) you'll have to contact me via PM or email (gee, wonder why there is no concern over that, cant I share the same state...err company secrets with those as I can with instant messengers?) and I'll do my best to respond as quickly as I can.
