I know I already posted this once but now I am officially asking what people should think I should do. I have the money for both projects.

Keep the GTP and diagnose problem, fix, and turbo?

Or Buy my uncles 240sx and buy the LS1 out of a wrecked trans am and engine swap?

Just need an answer and why you think I should do either. Or you can suggest ideas but please no honduhs or acuruhs (gypsy)

That sounds like it could be a lot of fun.

I'm trying to get my buddy with an rx7 to do a ls1 swap but he's all about rotary engines.

Good I have pic for the rotary engine Your friend won't like it but I find it amusing.

But yeah the ls1 has been shared around and has gone into many rx7's it is just starting to make it's was into the 240SX community and people still prefer the SR or RB route but this swap I hope will become commonplace one day

He showed me the engine taken apart and its funny as hell. I think there is something like 60 moving parts. All i can say is no torque.

Yeah plus if it breaks down, all I have to say is buy and LSx and swap because it is going to be a hell of a lot cheaper than fixing the dorito on the stick.

I personally like rotary engines, always have, but they are lacking on torque but you dont get much simpler than that nor fewer moving parts. Id love to learn how to work on one, tear it down, look around, etc.

I think rotary engines are one of the coolest engines out there. want more power? oh just add a rotor and if you want boost it! I vote turbo GP, honestly i think it would be a way cheaper project and you can drive it every day if you have to. Think about all the parts you will need for something like an Ls1 240, Ls1 motor, custom rear (my money says a stock one will shatter), some type of drive shaft, probably some custom way to mount it. Imo there would be so much custom fabrication on something like that, you would probably said and done spend double than expected. Not trying to put you down on it or anything, if you really want, Go for it!, I think it would be an awesome car but just not practical.

There are countless threads on 240 forums of people who left the stock rear and nothing has happened yet. The ls1 is easy to come by, and if I have to I could buy a cheap lt1 It sure is alot of work but there are also people who have done it in under 24 hours (jealous) But either way this has almost been a 50/50 and no one has suggested anything else :P

I can tell you, the 240 will be a fun build. And you'll know the car inside and out by the time it's all done. I did a 350 swap on a jeep wrangler a few years back and it was a well worth the time. Alot of custom fab parts. With the GP, your mainly going to be in the engine bay. I still say do the 240 for the fun and experience. Redo the GP back stock for a nice DD.

Yeah that is what I was thinking, but the money I would get from selling the GP as a whole or parting out would help mod the LS13
