Yep, because if I have to transition to a secondary sight equally or more accurate at distance, the irons go up and I maintain consistent positioning. My last qual at FLETC had us use both, and I believe branch-specific tests do, too.

I get buying them as toys, as that's been the thing for everyone since the flood gates opened in the early 2K's. I've been testing some variants with friends to make a budget buy.

IMHO Build dont buy. Much cheaper. This one is a 5.56, but I plan to do many more different calibers in the near future.

As I sit here now.... I am about to pull the trigger(pardon the pun) on a .50 Beowulf. I have a hog hunt coming up and I figured it would be a nice addition to the armory.

With how hard ammo is to come by these days, I imagine .50 Beowulf is either impossible to find or stupid expensive

    NOT even close... LOL

And BEO ammo is NOT CHEAP. But thankfully most of the big cal stuff was already expensive so this ammo price hike hasnt really effected it TOO much.

I just finished building my AR and don’t even want to shoot it cause I’d like to save my ammo. I haven’t even sighted in my red dot yet lol. It’s basically a paperweight right now

Yea the ammo situation right now is not great. I have got some ammo and I am reloading more everyday. But I have had to cut back my shooting quite a bit myself. I was going through 100~ rounds of .45 and about 300 rounds of 5.56 per week. That came to a quick halt when this **** started.

I’d reload if it wasn’t so expensive to startup. And everyone is doing it now, and the prices of all the brass, bullets, etc. went up in price too so it doesn’t pay for someone like me to do it

It is costly to get started. But if you look around you can find the supplies for a decent price still that will make it worth it in the long run. That is if you shoot enough. Like I said I shoot more than the average person does so reloading for me makes sense.

I have a Beretta 92X and a Savage 110 Tactical Desert ... those are the two guns with the most money in them w/ parts/accessories/upgrades.

I have a really fun AR pistol, and a bunch more handguns and rifles.

Oh, and I'm a firearms instructor.

I got a single stage setup to use with my rifle... 6.5 creedmoor, ...
I haven't done a single round yet, just been too busy.

Would like to do some handgun cartridges to get the hang of it, and then dedicate the single stage to the rifle and grab a progressive so I can make some target handgun loads quicker.

Sounds like you can hook me up with some bulk AR ammo then. 25 cents a round sound good?

    LOL

25 cents a round is about what it used to cost to reload them.

Now my reloaded rounds cost me about as much as they used to cost retail.

I dont sell gun ammo. LOL. Its like guns, I buy it every chance I get, and never sell it.

I have a 4 stage progressive I use. Havent really done much of the handgun stuff. Just mostly 5.56. Ive heard too many horror stories about the .45 acp stuff being super easy to over load and get a squib.

I’ve always thought carbine length AR’s with 16” barrels look kinda goofy. Too much barrel sticking out for me. I have a mid-length and I think the barrel to handguard ratio is nice
