Heey guys- while it seems my GS is running again, it's still a bit hard on cold startin- other driveablility is fine (now after new MAF) i do think the pump is letting pressure drop while the car is sitting (see no signs/smells of fuel from the vac line on the FPR) I'm handy enough with hand tools, but i am not sure that i want to get into changing the fuel pump on my own. is there anyone out there that would be willing to lend a hand? (can drive car to you if you have some work space) I'd be willling to pay/provide food, etc

    anybody? help a brutha out??

    thanks guys!

It is pretty simple if you change the whole canister, you access the pump through a panel under the trunk carpet, right behind the Pass-through(on GP, may have to climb into the trunk on other models) there are like 8ish 10mm nuts to be removed to remove the access cover. Then all the connections on the pump are quick-connect, just like the ones on the rails, you remove those. there is a locking ring that holds the canister to the fuel tank, you spin that to unlock the canister(may need a hit; hold a flat screwdriver against it and hit it, remember you are trying to spin it, not stab it ) once that ring is off, wiggle the canister out. Install new canister and work above directions backwards...

If you are changing the pump, folow above steps then change pump and reassemble

If there is something I missed I apolligize

i do plan on doing the whole module... the level sensor wiper needs swapped anyway... if you top off the tank, it tends to trip to empty on the gauge until ya run off a few miles.

as for when it's getting done, yes weekend is pretty much a given. I'm going to try and hold out for another couple weeks if i can help it. money is TIGHT at the moment, so i gotta milk the old one for a bit more. as long as it doesnt exhibit any more driveability issues, it should be OK. I certainly appreciate your (or anyone else for that matter) willingness to help me out with it. I'll keep ya posted.

yeah, i figured out the joke on the way to work this morning :/

hey i dont want to ask to much of ya UR LOSN, but how hard is changinig the radiator? I'm thinkin about changing that out, too soon. rush hour traffic seems to get the car too warm as of late, but have had a flush done, changed thermostat and had waterpump changed in the past 8 months... and both fans do seem to come on when commanded. so unless there's something restricting flow inside the engine, that points to partially clogged radiator, i think. (unless the thermostat took a crap already) ...

not saying i would rope you into helping me change the radiator, but wondered if it would be a possibility?
