Did you get the b*tch bolt that's on the back side of the engine?

^Just what I was thinking.
All the bolts but ONE you can see and unbolt from the transmission side, as they bolt into the engine block. There is only one bolt that bolts to the transmission, through the engine block, its backwards, and on the back side of the engine block, and a real P.I.T.A. to get to, this is known as the "***** bolt".
I will unhook the power steering pump, and using several long extensions, get to it from the front (passengers side) of the engine. I will use a 1/2 drive ratchet and extensions too, it helps.
When you put it back in, I will wrap the head of the bolt with some electrical tape so it fits snug but not tight in the socket, that way it does not fall out as your putting all your extensions together to get it to reach again.
You have the flex plate unbolted from the torque converter? Its only 3 bolts for this.

Have you unbolted the lower motor mount on the front side of the engine? (The one behind and below the crank pulley)
I leave the motor mount attached to the bracket, and the bracket to the engine block, and just take out the two nuts from the mount, and pull it on out of the subframe together.

yep i unbolted the motor mounts. I think ive missed something from the 2nd line here:
W Body:
2 15mm bolts holding the engine mount to subframe
4 13mm bolts holding diff cover bracket to engine
5 18mm bolts holding the engine to the trans (one comes in from the passenger side and can not be seen from the driverside)
3 18mm bolts holding the flexplate to torque converter
Alright guys I've decided that I wanna get back to the track soon. I'm plannin on it bein in the next couple weeks or so. Anybody wanna go with?
A buddy of mine with an Eclipse and a Mustang are planning on taking a trip to Heartland park Farns...might be a little trip for us but maybe plan something there? I heard the track prep there is awesome...I sure won't be running but my buddy's will be running. If you get your car back together SD...this 5.0 and 3G might be good races for you
There is always the 20th Annual Pontiac Uprising here in Wichita.
October 9th and 10th at K.I.D. (Wichita)
Track prep = awesomeness
New PB's every year. This year the Nitrous will be flowing back through the engine, so low 12's to mid 11's is my goal. Think we have a handle on the tricky '97 PCM tune as well.
Going to be a *****ing time.
Drag slick rubber, and tire smoke will be in the air for sure.

who was out driving on the highway next to Worlds of Fun saturday night? looked like a blue GP def with smoked tail lights
