  1. its possible the valve seals are worn, or the rings are.

    either one might be a bit beyond your level of expertise for repair.

    as for the fuel issue, i'd say stuck injector(s)
  2. well making a thread will get you multiple opinions which is the best way to go about this.

    the front cylinders from passenger side to drivers side are numbers 1 3 5.

    the terminals on the coils go 6/3, 5/2, 1/4.

    the position doesnt matter as long as the right wires are on the right coil .

    Since your fuel pressure regulator is in the trunk that can't be your issue.
