its definitely not warm enough for a wash here. and even if I did wash the car, it would be covered in road grime by the time I got home.

Thats been the deal here for quite awhile too. Seems like a couple months since I washed that pig. HLs and HUD were dim from dirt and I figured there weren't quite enough black coupe pics on the thread yet. lol

Theres over half a tank in the loud one today and its warm n breezy (60s) so hey, we will consume mass quantities of dead dinosaurs today on behalf of them whats snowed in.

Dayum, you hardcore man. I couldn't do it below 60F. Probably because I washed cars in the cold for a living for a year once. Make mine well done, I'll be right over.

I go to a self wash that has a door on one side that you can close. I leave my car running with the heat on high, works pretty well. If you dry fast enough it won't freeze.

I made you that steak man, you didn't show so I ate it lol. I do them medium rare

Well I know I'd be willing to hang out by a grille if I had just done that, brr! The sweet 'P got a hand wash with many bucket changes and rinses, and a good rocker moldings and towers flushing out. Still wax on there. Even gave it tire shiny and mitt in the bay and jambs plus some general rubbin. I put it in the garage immediately. Opened up the GT to air it out too. I had that one and the Grape one out so far today... no more needs but I might hunt rice in the GTP a li'l before the day is over.

I was looking at the pictures in your thread, and I was really impressed by the styling of the 1970 Grand Prix front end. I owned a 1967 Caprice for a while, it was nice, but I like the Grand Prix much better

DeLorean was the GM guy who set the 69 Grand Prix in motion. Dusenberg influences are evident in the design. Always thought they would look better with painted bumpers so I did it. Mine's a 69, the 455 didn't come until 70 and the one I use is a 71-2 "big car" one. A 67 Caprice is also a beauty. GM had great looking cars in the mid 60s-early 70s, yep. I'm kinda stuck with old stuff since I'm drawing the technology "don't step over" line at drive by wire and insist on big coupes. The 69GP needs some updates BAD but it still packs a punch and turns a head. Its my pride and joy.

Just spent the last hour at war with cypress tree sap on the GT. Its 65F and windy. Got it off the glass on the bad side and some of the area around that. It went like this:

Hot soapy water. Rubbing alcohol. Razor blade. PB Blaster. Clay bar. Hot soapy water. I don't want to buff it much and won't today. I'll see about some W&G remover from work. Dang that sap is bad.

OK so I have Torque Pro on my tablet and an ELM 327 bluetooth adapter, but I'm having no luck talking to the GTP. App and adapter are communicating just fine... I think. Been playing with it a half hour and I had the car icon flashing once. Bad noob syndrome.

Anybody wanna step up for the assist?

Yeah, a few times. But the connection to it wasn't found every time I fired up TQ. Only once did I see it put up like firmware info from the adapter so it could be a connector problem. I'm gonna need daylight at least, to inspect the connector good. I'll have to pick away at the research when time allows.

Honestly this is where the eBay connectors win and fail

the one my buddy got for his droid phone works only in his jeep not his regal - because he got it for his regal but it wouldn't work. So before we threw it out we tried his other car.

Maybe she hasn't been smacked around enough lately and has forgotten who is boss. Maybe I'll succeed with this adapter, maybe not. Last few times I tried it, the app wasn't seeing the adapter at all. Wish me luck. Wheres the guy with blue feet and gifs now?

I had the tablet in a cover, too. Perhaps my knee was in the way.

Welp, I don't think thats the trouble...

Google Image searched ELM 327 and visually found the specific adapter I have that way. Visited the website. Its sold as a scan tool with it's own software via mini-CD or download. BUT... for Windows phones and PCs (laptops). I have Android tablet, Apple phone, Windows desktop. Back to square one, almost.

Wait, it says it works with Android too. Confused again. Here, you guys look:

    http://www.dx.com/p/elm327-obdii-v1-...158741#reviews

In daylight, I was able to see a small piece of casting flash inside the connector of the adapter. It was against a pin on a corner. I got that scraped out and the tablet-to-adapter connection was successful on a higher percentage of attempts than before. The car icon on Torque flashes, at least. That connection however, comes and goes. It seems that most tries result in a loss of communication between app and adapter that occurs shortly after a protocol scan is initiated. When viewing adapter status, on most tries, the app sees the adapter and theres no fault codes. At no time has there ever been a connection between car and app so far. Top left corner of Torque home screen has four blue icons, the center two of which stay lit. The one on the left flashes always and the one on the right (I called it the car icon) flashes when the app sees the connector. The tablet's "settings" app sees the adapter constantly and there were no pairing difficulties.

Whew, F that S. Carbs til I die!
