Re: '04 Comp G - Needs moar low
Well, it may be a bit before I get around to lowering... maybe. I threw a new battery in 2 days ago, shut the hood, and took off. I got about 2 miles down the road, and the car lost all power. The "Reduced Engine Power" warning came on, and it wouldn't accelerate for ****. I checked the voltage, and it was hovering around 11.9-12.1 volts with the brand new battery. I checked all connections, everything looked good and tight, so I just drove home. Last night I went to take it in to the shop, and the car ran great with 14.7-15 volts. I didn't touch a thing, and it ran perfect. Still having everything checked, just in case - it's too cold for me to mess with it right now, plus my front turn signals need to be fixed anyways.
Re: '04 Comp G - Needs moar low
Power situation still hasn't been sorted out. Everything else has though, including a new alternator and new idler and tensioner pulleys and a supercharger belt. Stopped by the shop last night and grabbed my EBCM, sending it out today to be fixed

Thanks man! It's been a pain, but I love it.
Re: '04 Comp G - Needs moar low
Looking at 98-02 WS6 Trans Ams now... Mom had one when I was a kid, always wanted one and they're starting to fall into my price range. Not sure on future plans with the Comp G, but I've gotta finish it too, given its family roots. Not sure where I'm gonna go from here
Re: '04 Comp G - Needs moar low
Find a 2000+, trust me on that.
01-02 being the best of the bunch. I wouldn't ever buy a 98 thats for sure. First year problems and if you want to mod them, 98-99 are funky with their computers from what I read on HPT. The 2000+ operating systems are better.
Re: '04 Comp G - Needs moar low
Damn. I've been looking closely at a '98 20 minutes away, it was perfect - low miles, t-top, M6, garage kept, headers and Borla exhaust, trans was gone through and new 4.10 rear gear for 12k: https://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/cto/5392903572.html
Re: '04 Comp G - Needs moar low
It's the APP sensor causing the problems. Gonna get it taken care of soon. Taking the car in to a body shop Friday to get an estimate on a new front end (new OEM bumper and valance, SPO grilles, license plate bracket, and arrowhead). Anyone know what the part numbers for the SPO grilles are?

Re: '04 Comp G - Needs moar low
And I sure as hell wouldn't want to DD that especially for you folks that have Winter. Keep the comp G as a DD then grab a toy.

Garage kept and rust free cars are like hen's teeth here, you can't find a nice WS6 near me for under 10k and I don't want a project at all. If I pick one up, it'll never be a DD, lol. The Comp G isn't going anywhere

Just bought a new set from Royal Oaks Chevy.com for $107 shipped, thought I'd never find a better deal. Great, lol. Either way, black SPOs are soon to be on the car, hopefully with an all new, all OEM front end

Dealership I ordered the grilles from hadn't updated their stock and didn't have the grilles anymore (there's 2 new sets left in the country at dealerships now, one in CA and one in OK), so I actually just bought the ebay set you showed me, red. Thanks a ton lol

Well, the SPOs are gonna have some company. I went to a local body shop and got prices figured out, so I'm finally getting that bodywork done here in the next month or so. Just ordered a new front bumper, lower valance (sadly not an SE one), Pontiac emblem, and license plate bracket (all new OEM parts) to go with the new SPO grilles. All said and done it was $400 in parts. The shop is gonna paint the bumper and put all that together, repaint the hood and mirrors, fix and repaint the rear bumper, and finally get the SPO spoiler painted and put on. It's finally starting to come together lol

I'll gladly have it painted if you donate yours! Otherwise, it's gonna be a while before I can afford one lol. Someday... :)
