I mentioned Intense as I heard it has decent shifts. I have done 3 Transgo kits. Noticed nothing on my GXP, slight bump in the Comp G and the one that made the most difference was the 2000 GTP. I will try Intense myself next time.

I'm gonna go with the Transgo kit for this one, down the road when I DO need a new trans (which is gonna be decently built, whether the motor is modded further or not) I'll probably go with Intense's kit. Thanks, guys! And as for the pan, I'm probably just gonna go with aluminum because it won't rust, bend, and it's harder to poke a hole in if I ever did end up in a ditch or over a curb (same reason I'm gonna go with the aluminum oil pan if I ever have to pull the motor). A Dorman pan would do fine, the stock one actually would too, but I just try to go overkill on everything I can

Just go to Home Depot and grab a pack of Magnets then, they are small and should be able to attach to the filter. GM has a bulletin about the extra magnets, but you can not do it with an aluminum pan.

And swap to a Dorman pan while your at it so you'll have a drain plug that will make future pan drops easier

I don't see the point in an aluminum pan, money can be better spent many other places. If you had a deal on a used (and helicoiled) one that'd be one thing, but at brand new prices? not worth it IMO.

    This...

And next time you have to do a pan drop you'll be glad that you have a drain plug.. and it's like $40-50 if that.

I dunno what pan I'll go with, it really doesn't matter much. Anyway, I realized today that one of the ugliest parts of my motor was the hardware. Soooo, I got sick of looking at this

so I tapped the ICM bracket for SS M6 bolts

replaced the bolts on the PCV cap with matching SS ones

and I noticed how ugly my coils looked in contrast to the new bolts, so this happened

waiting on the paint to dry overnight, then I'll put it back together tomorrow morning

crappy pic cuz it was 5:30 and dark, but you get the idea. Turned out pretty good. In other news, the trans has been running flawlessly (thank god)

The extra work it took for the stainless hardware was well worth it IMO, especially with the painted coils. Getting the ICM bracket off was the only semi-difficult part, and even that wasn't bad at all (but I'm sure you already know that)

Just wanted to show you what I was referring to. Did the lower valence today and for sure the bumper needs to be removed for this piece to be installed. One push pin on each side are inaccessible as well as one in the dead center that is recessed and slides forward to remove. It will never come off without removing the bumper if yours did the push pins were missing . It was kind of a biach, but not horrible. Did the transmission cooler at the same time.

Well, I got sick of my car sounding like a freakin trombone upon acceleration. Put it on a lift, found the hole in the exhaust again, cleared the other rust chunks away, me and a buddy split a can of pineapples and cut the can down the side, slipped it over my resonator and used metal wire to keep it in place (didn't have hose clamps big enough). God, I hate rigging things, but this sounds so much quieter for now.

Ordering 97-03 SSCs on the 3rd, and the lowering begins as soon as they arrive. I've got everything else I need (aside from the struts, but those will come later). After that I've just got a couple of little spots I need to take care of on the body (nothing major at all), and I'll be car show ready
