ok looking Kijiji
found a 98 Yukon
& a 2003 Grand Prix GT
I'm thinking they were mezmerized by all the stuff you've done on the car and drove right into you.
Nooo :c
Yea that car would be tough to overlook. And yep this sucks, I see structural damage so even if it drives great it'll be a total. Look at it as an opportinity to add a second car (or one to sell) by "keeping the salvage" when they ask you. With a salvage yard fender, lamp, and maybe a strut you could probably fix and drive the thing some more.
Oh... One of the worst sucky things about that little thump, is it looks like the battery might be trapped now. Tough to get around that if it smashed that far. Ran into that on a wreck of mine and the battery case was cracked and leaking so I HAD to get it out. Just something to bear in mind as you go through the rest of the hassle, heavyd.
Aw bummer, an Optima. Well, hopefully theres still room to remove it if you hang onto the car. I'd bet even after you get the body shop estimate, the insurance company will write their own anyway. Try not to waste time haggling too much if they "total" it. Your modifications mean nothing to an insurance company and fresh parts are not considered value-adders in their world. Chances are you'll get plenty $ from the claim and be happy with their number because their own valuing system kinda works against them on older cars. I would be suprised if whatever ins co it is does not satisfy your claim, in reality they do try hard.
Ok seen the 2003 gp gt, and it looks good, but tranny only works 1st, 2nd & reverse - & reverse make a lot of noise.
