Hello all. I've been on this forum, but haven't really posted much. A few members that I talk to off the forum have pressured me to make a member ride thread, so here it is.

My time with this car began in 2013. I was fifteen years old, still on my learner's permit, and had been looking for a first car. Being fifteen and knowing nothing about cars, but still wanting something "fast", I wanted a Mustang. I had looked at a few cars I liked, for example a 1995 GT convertible, but didn't settle on any of them. I THOUGHT I wanted a Mustang, but something about them just didn't completely "do it" for me. I was dead set on one, however... That is, until mid-Jine when my mother showed me two cars he co-worker had put up for sale.

At first, I didn't really think I'd be too interested in either car. I wanted a Mustang, damnit, not a grandma car Buick or some weird Grand Am thing! That changed when I saw pictures of the Grand Prix. "Hey, that actually looks kind of cool!" I thought. Then my mom told me it was "Supercharged" and took premium gas. I had no idea what that meant, but hey, it sounded cool and I kind of wanted it. With my interest established, I ended up checking out the car and FELL IN LOVE WITH IT as soon as I got in it. We left with no real deal, though, as I still wanted to consider some options. A week or two pass, and I wake up one morning to my mom telling me to come downstairs. Sort of annoyed, I walk down to an open front door and my Grand Prix sitting in my drive-way. I was ECSTATIC and we immediately took it on a drive. Unfortunately, without my license, I couldn't drive it without my mother yet.

Of course, I got my license a couple of weeks later and have been driving the GTP since. Thought at the time I thought it was the fastest thing ever, some experience and a lot of research have shown me it's actually pretty slow in stock form, which brings me to where I am today. I did a little bit of reading and "planned" on modding my car for over a year before I even bought a single performance parts, partially due to a lack of knowledge/skill to install, and partially due to a lack of money to do so (No job at the time). That all changed when I joined here and got invited to hang with a few local w-body guys. (You know who you are). Right now my car is still basically stock, but I have a decent backup of parts I need to install. Soon, the build will begin, and my car will become significantly less slow.

But yeah, here I am a year and a half later. I now know what a supercharged does (LOL), cringe at the fact I thought V6 mustangs were cool/fast, and have all in all learned a LOT. Onto the point of the thread, here's the car...
Here she is after being freshly washed/waxed. 100% stock/unmodified at this point.

And here she is today.... Not much different, just an extra ding or two and with a little bit of rake.(It's not really that noticeable unless it's next to another GP)
Next post will have information on my build plan and plenty more pictures.

Nick Rivers was the name of the main character in Top Secret, played by Val Kilmer. One of my all-time favorite movies.

Nick Rivers: I'm pleased to meet you. My name's Nick.
Hillary Flammond: Nick? What does that mean?
Nick Rivers: Oh, nothing. My dad thought of it while he was shaving.

    Welcome!

So, after an extended length without an update, I finally have some progress to report.
The rear struts are on (This was an absoloute PitA, thanks to CapnBreakAlot for helping me unfreeze the splined bolts), the car is lowered on both ends, I installed a 180 tstat, and I got a legendary smuts tune.

The car handles much better after the drop, the smuts tune made a night and day difference in how the car drives, and the 180 tstat is giving me at least 15whp from my estimations. Even with minimal mods, I'm really liking how this car is coming along. Here she is post-lowering

There's MUCH more to come soon, though. First on the list of real mods....
