spacers removed, and new radiator installed. the barometric pressure must have been higher than normal yesterday because my car made 6 lbs of boost instead of the usual 5. today I am going to change my spark plug wires because I think one wire has a hole in it and is shorting out to the header.

this is where the elk come to hang out in the winter:

I was at work the other day and we took the kids out to the playground. the elk are a long ways away, I zoomed as much as I could.

they are all protected where they are. every fall about the time when hunting season starts, they migrate from the mountains to this area. it's a national park aka elk refuge. looks to be at least 1000 elk there. I might have to take my good camera and get some better shots next time.

Dang thats big country. I heard the elk here have a disease going around right now. But in recent years theres been enough of them to pass out a few hunting tags.

I haven't hunted in quite some time, but I've never heard of anyone having a hard time getting an elk tag. my brother in law usually harvests an elk every year. Chronic Wasting Disease plagues the mule deer population more than the elk, I'm not sure if elk are even affected by it.

Theres no herds of them here so even just having a year where its possible to apply or enter for an elk tag is significant.

Deer and elk tags are easy to get, the one time I applied for an antelope tag I got it, but I've heard of others not getting a tag. We also have moose and bison that are one in a lifetime applications. There is a lot of hunting opportunities up here

got the new radiator in, and it holds coolant like it should. and the new fan housing doesn't rub like the last one did. over the weekend I took the supercharger and lower intake manifold off to replace with the L36 lower and L26 upper intake manifolds. the studs that held the rear side of the fuel rail had broke off, so nothing was holding the rear fuel injectors down, and they developed a vacuum leak. I could have just removed the supercharger and repaired the holes, but I figured I might as well install the N/A intake for the future turbo install.

I ran into a few problems, the first one was the angle of the fuel injectors going into the heads was bad, so I used some lock washers to lift the fuel rail and give it a different angle, I also cut the fuel rail and used 300 psi fuel injector line with fuel injector hose clamps. It took a few tries to get the injectors to seal, but it is good now, no fuel leaks and no vacuum leaks.

the other problem I am still having is with the throttle position sensor. when I am driving with the cruise control on, if I push on the gas pedal, nothing will happen, but when I turn the cc off, everything is fine. the other symptom is that after I have gone for a drive and put it in park, the idle will surge from 500 to 1500 rpm and then the engine will die within a few duration's. I changed the tps and the problem came back, so I think it is either a wiring issue or a pcm issue. when I had the north star throttle body on, I had tps issues then as well.

Here are some pictures of the current configuration, my vacuum line routing is probably jacked up, I am open to suggestions.

pretty sure you need to mod the tb like this, then run that nipple to the tb. http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...cover-breather!

the throttle body already has a nipple on it for a vacuum line, why do I need to add another nipple?

I'm not using the nipple for evap either, evap deleted and nipple is just capped off. I'm not trying to argue, I just want to understand why it would be different.

I switched to the map sensor in the L26 upper intake manifold by wiring in the different connector and capping off the nipple on the upper intake manifold. the check engine light came on and the code is P1635 and another P0463. the P1635 is a 5 volt referance for the maf, map, throttle position, and fuel level sensors. the P0463 is for the fuel level. The map sensor is reading, and the reading stays about 54ish.

I'm wondering if my pcm is acting funny or I wired the connector wrong, or the splices are creating too much resistance for the pcm to accurately read the data.

the other thing I did, really just out of curiosity, was to connect the nipple on the upper intake manifold to the nipple on the throttle body. when I did that, the car acted like it had a vacuum leak. not really sure why. car went back to normal when I plugged the nipples.
