Kevin from Cartuning has been helping me with my tune. I'm trying to learn to tune it myself, but it takes time. Good to know you are semi close though.

It is a LOT of fun to drive! And its discreet fun, the cops don't pay any attention to it.

The result of many frustrating hours, finally completed. I believe another first for a 00-05 Impala.

Its all 97-03 stuff. I had the 04+ setup too, but I ended up going with the earlier version because I could figure how to wire it up. The GP bezel doesn't fit an Impala like it does a Regal, so we had to plastic weld pieces of Impala and Grand Prix together to make this.

I can give you the wiring information I have but everything else has to be custom made. Its really a LOT of work to get it to fit and look right.

I decided to stop updating my build thread on NAIOA and move it over here. Not sure if anyone goes on there anymore.

Anyways, lots planned for this year's build. The plans are:

    -Fix input shaft bearing
    -New clutch
    -Double Roller timing chain
-140lb valve springs (had valve float above 5700rpm last year)
    -LS7 Lifters
    -3/8 Pushrods (maybe)
    -3" exhaust cutout
-Walbro 255lph fuel pump in venturi canister
    -ZZP 10.3mm spark plug wires
-Mildly ported heads (going to try this myself)
-Phenolic hybrid full stack intercooler with vw rad heat exchanger and cts-v pump
    -3.0 Supercharger pulley
-Addco 22mm rear sway bar (currently have 19mm GMPP bar)
    -Moog front control arm bushings
    -Iat sensor in LIM
-Quad Tail lights (done, just need to do wiring)
    -Boost gauge
    -Coilovers
    -Shave Radiator support
    -Equal length diagonal braces
    -wire tuck
-custom adjustable lower engine and trans torque mounts/ upper dogbone delete
    -Solid steering rack bushing
-Ebc Redstuff pads on all corners
-Centric StopTech slotted rotors on all corners, cryo treated fronts
    -Otto front strut tower bar
    -SS Front bumper
    -New gas door
    -paint
    -powdercoating
    -TUNE!!!!

..and I'd like to have this all done by June 11th for the W-Body gathering on the 13th.

Most of the parts are either already in my possession or ordered.

Kittens approve of the car parts.

I wouldn't get used to seeing it like this:

    The teardown begins:

Ended up dropping the whole engine, trans, and subframe out the bottom of the car and dragging it out with the 'vo. Loaded it up on my trailer and brought it up to my buddy's shop.

Started working on further shaving of the engine bay:

Moog problem solver front control arm bushings. These are more like ball joints than bushings and don't flex like the stock rubber junk. I've heard great things about these:

Solid aluminum steering rack bushing, because racekar:

    Engine and trans split apart.....

To find a $800 clutch coated in transmission fluid, just as I expected. Rear main seal is dry, so it's definitely the input seal on the trans. Good thing I have something planned for this.

More progress soon. Building 2 other cars right now but hopefully I can keep the ball rolling on this.

Shaving the front support, what about the top mount and the cross bars?

I like where this is going.

I'm making a lower mounting system so there will be no more dogbone mounts.

I am leaving the passenger side diagonal brace and making one that is the same length for the driver side which I will drill new holes for, so that they are the same length and symmetrical.
