Unplug the boost solenoid and see if anything changes?
Btw forgot to ask you what oil filter relocation kit you used. Im looking at this one on summit

Problem solved. Car was originally NA so doesn't have the plug for the solenoid and its not in the tune.
I am an idiot and assumed the solenoid was normally open and closed when pulling boost, so I trashed it and hooked up the vacuum line strait to the actuator. Now I realize that the solenoid is normally closed and bypassing it was making it pull boost all the time. Felt like such a noob. So I got rid of the line going to the actuator and now I'm seeing 11psi. Whole different car. This is what I knew it should be. Boils the tires off in 2nd with a quick blip of the throttle, and these are pretty sticky tires. Can't wait to get the tune dialed in so I can rip on it.
Ginseng,
I'm not sure the part number, but as long as the threads are right I would think it would work. The one thing I would do is make your own stainless hoses for it with 90* swivel hose ends on each side. Will make it a much cleaner and easier install. I had the hoses that came with the kit leak pretty badly.
i need to see this car in person.
when my car is back on the road again, we should definitely go for a cruise on some extra curvy roads!
I'm in!
So I've been doing some thinking about the solenoid thing. Would be kind of cool to have a switch somewhere in the car that controls it. That way I could have 2 stages of boost, full boost and the lowered 4psi when you switch the switch. Would be useful for launches, valets, gas mileage, etc..
Heh, funny story about that. There was a Saab in there last week that I thought was yours (it wasn't). Was asking them who's car it was and showed them a pic of your car and they said they knew you. Small world.
I'm in the process of an L67-Fiero swap there right now. Waiting on axles so I won't be back in until those come in. Maybe next week some time. I'll let you know.
Yeah I saw that build, they are pretty awesome when it comes to big custom project undertakings.
My car is still at the bodyshop down the road and will be through this week, might get it back next week. They are treating all the rust (cutting out and welding in new). I was hoping to have it back this week so I could do some buffin'n'polishin'. Oh well.
Tell them I'm still trying to figure out the rear end clunk, I'm thinking about disconnecting the rear sway bar and see if it is still there. If it is, then either rear trailing arm poly bushing is shot or something in the strut. Either way the subframes are coming out of the car and powder coated and all new bushing will be pressed in.
Nice car and congrats on the award!
