Just got a new GTP. the strut towers were going on the regal. had to let it go. BUT, I did just get an 03 with solid towers. The rockers have a little rust starting. will probably restore the car this winter, BUT for now I am going to focus on all the crap that has been done WRONG mechanically so far.

The car has an exaust leak. somewhere near the rear manifold or maybe the flex pipe right below it (pretty bad leak). after getting it and driving it home last night I smelt the typical coolant smell. probably will do the lims and replace the coolant elbow with the aluminum one here in the next few weeks.

The car does have "3" inch exaust according to the seller. it doesnt quite look 3" but maybe from the manifolds back. It has a 3.4 pully, but no tune that I can tell. Also still has stock manifolds and "connecting pipe". so headers look to be in the pretty near future and a tune. the heater I found out this morning doesnt work... I swore it worked yesterday, but it was in the 70's when I checked. AC does work...

appears to have a 180 degree tstat according to gauge.

it is semi quick (regal was faster). BUT, there are some mechanical issues that need to get iron'd out before I go romping on it. Got on it one time. afraid of the 3.4 pully with the current lack of supporting features.

couple teaser pics. I will be posting for some help with pulley/mod recommendations shortly in the proper forums.

He means lower it and a plate that goes on the front bumper were a licence plate would go. I like that colour.

this will be happening here in about 6 weeks. maybe 8. I have a feeling tranny may need to be done sooner than later. so if it all comes out. headers/lim etc will be done. Then just need a tune.

buying a house right now. Just dropped a G on earnest money and 350 on the appraisal. and will probably drop 3k at closing. So I need my money to recover for a month or two.

Or find someone near you and borrow theirs, if you can spend the change I would just bite the bullet and get an MPS.

lol... if the tranny ****s right now I may not have a choice! lol. after reviewing finances and few house buying/appraisal/inspection/mortgage fees and dues etc the bank account is dwindling! if I wanted to do anything to it right now it would be on credit, and I am against using credit at all (other than mortgage). I am currently 100% debt free. when we close on house I will just have a house payment. BUT, that is 500 a month less than my current rent is. SO, I can justify it!

yeah. its gonna be babied for a little while. and thanks.

I am anxious to get some track times though. I do miss my gtp currently in avatar. never got a track time on that one, but didnt have to baby it. it was mechanically solid. but strut towers were gone etc.

excited to get this 03 up and going and get it into the 13's but I gotta be patient and get through this house thing first. (I am not a patient person)
