i cant afford it. if i could id take it. what is it? a vs?
Yeah a VS cam. If I'm gonna go with a cam I'm gonna go big.
I just can't justify putting that much work into a baby cam. I could get the same power results out of rockers if I wanted to.
Here we go again

I mean you can make decent power on it, but if you're gonna do a cam why not throw a big cam in and only do it once. I guess it depends on what all you want out of the car, I'd rather just do rockers again than do a vs cam.
It's like religion or politics.. A never ending argument.. Best to not be brought up.

Having seen the torque curve of rockers against a VS cam and knowing the overall drivability of the two I'd go VS all day long. Sure you don't get the big cam lope of the bigger cams but you do get a very broad, very flat torque curve.
And having had both 1.9s prior then the VS cam.. The VS was more worthwhile.

I agree the gains are better with the VS over a rocker build. BUT They are not what you would get if you went with a mild cam such as an XP/S1x/NIC cam.
Ive mentioned it before I'm sure but with those mild cams your looking more gains toward the higher rpms.. For something that you DD I doubt your getting much use out of those higher rpms. Sure every once in awhile a guy is going to do a WOT run then post a video on here and your going to have several guys that say oh man I want a cam like that etc etc but I bet 99% of the time the driver doesn't do that on a daily basis. All comes down to how mild to wild you want to go..

There's definitely gains to be had out of a vs over rockers and there's definitely gains to be had over bigger cams over the vs cam, what it all comes down to is what you want out of the car, it's purely personal preferance at that point. If I'm gonna cam my car it's gonna be a balls to the walls build and I'm gonna go all out, I won't be dailying it. A VS is a perfect daily cam because the power and torque is so consistant throughout the rpm range as opposed to any of the other cams. It's just not what I'm going for though.
So what are you going for or do you even know lol

Hes going to buy more parts to sell them because he doesn't know what he wants too do.
The higher RPM cams can make great power down low. WE have a way of controling how much power we want down low by adjusting pulley size. Smaller pulley means more boost RIGHT NOW and faster build of boost. Then when you would get into a higher RPM band the cam really start shining. True you will have to drop a little timing to run more boost down low but then you can run the best of both worlds.
Also I laugh at people that claim this cam is more of a DD then that cam. I know lots of people who had DD'd some big cams. Any cam can be dd'd just fine.
