lol I just read that.... your killing me.... im still tempted to get a line guage to check it myself. and pray for the best.
one question. if i dont take the mains apart and just pop the pistons out the top and redo rods and pistons i shouldnt need a line hone right? and ill just have to be very careful with the ol ball hone and cyclinder upside down lol.... of course ill mic it out first.

Since Scotty seen it fit to piss on my parade I decided to go ahead and pull everything apart. couple of worn bearing, but nothing that wasn't serviceable, only one had embedded debris, but overall everything looked normal for a 100+k mile engine. crank looks fine some small marks but no ridges. And I made a Water tube thingy since the l36/l67 one wont work. still need cleaned up but i have high hopes for it. its not sitting flat in the last pic because of the pliers.

2.5" is plenty big. 3" is usually overkill unless you're running a big cam and heads.

full 3 inch sounds best if your to go full after market mufflers and such.

truth is these engine dont sound good, the only set ups ive found remotely doable sound quality wise is the full 3 inch. theres like 3 or 4 guys here running the full 3 inch. sounds great compared to anything else ive heard.

unless you want it quiet run 2.5 pipe and some stock mufflers off a GP, dont forget the res. this engine needs one. glass packs double as a res for 25 bucks.

I've herd one with true duals and cc inserts and high flow cats. And at the top end it sounded wonderful. So I figure 2.5 inch pipe glass pack and a muffler, its quiet now until u open it up so that's what I'm going to shoot for. I like the whole sleeper gig. No one really expects a stock looking Datsun to run 13's and I can't wait to see what it will do with some boost.

You should either paint or polish the front cover.

I loved my red and black theme.

Should do something similar. Simple and it pops well.
