So the brother with the 2002 3.8 camaro sent me this, said oil is milky, runs rough, hits the gas and blue smoke comes out the back.

So I get there, lets start taking crap apart.
Intake side fbody coolant in the middle came out clear

    One hole got junk
20170712_204445 by Corey S, on Flickr

Not sure is the gasket pulled off like that or it was getting eaten away
20170712_204544 by Corey S, on Flickr

Upper off, yes coolant and radiator are still nice clear and green
20170712_215351 by Corey S, on Flickr

All ports looked clear except one but cant say to much of that as the gunk from the upper was close to there

We did the lim about 1.5 years ago, been flawless ever since. He said he checked the oil a few days ago and all was well, driving home from work the car was hesitating and he hit the gas and blue puff (big in his words) came out the back. Got home checked the oil and milky. So we got milky oil, pcv milky as hell, puffs oil out the back, upper intake has a coating of oil....... Coolant mixing with oil sure, but to throw burning oil into the mix and then having it spray over the passenger side? What the hell symptom is this?

with all this down time i thought you'd clean the bay up more.

cant wait for you to smell all that new paint curing. its a unique smell that lasts a few months.

With all the time the car has been down and slowly eating me away it can kiss my ass. I am just going to assemble what I got and not delete anything else or do nothing else under the hood. If I took anymore time to do what I wanted to do in the first place it wouldnt be on the road until 2018 and by then I wouldnt care anymore. As of right now I still need to mount the coil pack on the firewall, waiting for the bro to finish a plate for that. Dog bone delete didnt happen so it will have the driver aluminum one still attached. Didnt even get to touch the abs delete so whatever. I hope nothing leaks, it fires up and gives me a cam boner. We shall see how far next weekend gets me with all the little crap and maybe I can get closer to starting it again.

And my back feels great, the humidity though my shirt must have weighed 20lbs. Sucks putting in a engine all by yourself.

20170830_160021 by Corey S, on Flickr

Everything thing is pretty much buttoned up now, couple more things to do, add oil, waiting for the tensioner spacer whenever the bro finishes that, find a belt that fits and hope the engine runs and everything I changed runs too!

So its alive...... as of right now no fluids leak. But talk about a stage 2 turbo cam disappointment, I sure aint gonna brag its "cammed." I expeected SOMETHING not nearly nothing different from stock, to me the sound was worth the wait and work, now so far not so much. Idle is 900rpm so maybe if I drop it to 700 I can get something.......

So I guess I will start from the beginning, pulled the pump fuse cranked it a good 10revolutions, put fuse back in and cranked it until it fired, bout 3 full revs. All if well no banging or nothing but dam **** smoking all over the engine bay, exhaust burning off the oil oh man. smookey

20170903_143544 by Corey S, on Flickr

    Oil conformation
20170903_143720 by Corey S, on Flickr

Gonna have to take care of this, it went high as 54 at idle, but once again 0 while driving or in boost20170903_160356 by Corey S, on Flickr

So I got the balls to go drive it on the road as the engine seemed to be holding together. I brake boost a little in park and hear a clank, back to the tools. Just turns out I needed to put another bolt in the aluminum dog bone mount to the head, oops.
Back to the road, try to hit boost it builds but it aint shifting. Its stuck in first no matter what. So I finally go around the blockin dam first and see the check engine light on.
20170903_145037 by Corey S, on Flickr

So I took off the TPS, clocked it and turned it against the spring and deleted the codes. NOW I actually have the throttle response and turbo power I was expeceting AND I have all gears back! Driven it a few miles, few WOT and all is good so far. previous tune still, 0kr top of second and lost about 4ish psi, im just about 12psi right now.

Alt sits down below and I have the heater core bypassed right now as I want to make sure the fittings dont leak then I can run the hoses to the correct locations. And my new belt size is 81.66"
20170903_143927 by Corey S, on Flickr
20170903_143940 by Corey S, on Flickr

And a quick vid of the so called stage 2 turbo cam
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIitExRRU_A

As of right now im glad everything is ok, but other than that I am alittle disappointed. I hope a tune more than makes up for it and all my changes dont fail....... Will also recheck exhaust components to make sure they are tight and leak free before I try any tuning.

is that a exhaust leak i hear under the hood? or is it just that loud now?

id turn that idle down some, i had mine set to 850 for a while and stopping was a whore. as well as holding it at a light.

SO laptop is killing itself cant do **** with it all it does is freeze so there goes toying with lowering the idle or even tuning it. Yes I have only put on 20miles but its 20 DRIVEN miles and I got to pay attention to the aero while going to the gym today, ya.....it needs a tune. Maf hz blows past 12,300, swear I saw a 12,900 with 2.9kr in 2nd with room to spare. AFr I saw 12.3 and a 12.9 and I am not even at the shift points. Not bad considering before cam and heads I was chugging 10.0afr

It does pull harder so far, steering wheel got a little sqwirly in 2nd, in 2nd with a roll into boost it likes to bark the tires loud so as is, ya its faster.

I would like to run the hoses to the heater core now and shove the fog machine up the cars ass to see where this exhaust leak is comming from, sounds like the rear. Prior to tear down the rear mani to wastegate perch it was leaking, I got a new metal gasket during the build so it will be interesting to see where its comming from.

Oh I also turned the happy knob up a teeny bit too

If this ***** is good to me maybe I can finally reward it with a paint job next year.
