Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
This thread is getting dumb. Can anyone recommend another forum? This forum is getting tiring fast. Everyone is welcome to an opinion. I don't mind being that at all. Negative or different opinions are more than welcome. I simply can not understand the people who just post garbage and couldn't bother to read more than the first post in a thread. I addressed what and why I removed the decals. Few people bothered to read them. My own commentary was deleted. Maybe it can move along into a nice build thread or it should be deleted and closed.
So maybe a quick recap and restart of the thread. Mods please try and clean it up one last time.
1=Strobes are staying just getting a little tint. So no not for sale.
2=I purchased the car to collect. Then I enjoyed driving it. So I pulled them off for daily driver use. I could care less about resale value. I have other cars very small collection this one is taking over daily driver status. I can not drive around with a professional career in sales covered in NASCAR. Which people really don't even like in Boston
3=We all live on different budgets. I have no concern for resale value or what little amount of money I could have flipped it for or stored it for future sales. Lets see 100$ month for a garage spot plus insurance for a year=$2400. Maybe if I lived in suburbia with an extra garage. That is just not my world.
4= So lets focus on how i can whip those m3 guys on the pike and hit 12's with my ex pace car.

Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
^ There are other GP sites, but I can pretty much guarantee you will have the same reception. These are all enthusiasts sites and many of which have die hard Pontiac fans. It's no different than going to your camaro forum and posting a build thread with how you are swapping in a modular motor. Or how you have a B4C, but you are going to rip everything apart and throw it in the trash because you don't like any of it.
You can't get pissed off at people who dislike what you did, because you opened that can of worms the minute you posted pics. Your pace car represents a piece of Pontiac history and really is more about that than the faggatory that is NASCAR, it should really be in a museum or in a collection somewhere. With time you might understand, but I doubt it. You only see cars as a tool meant to get you from point A to point B in a timely matter. There's nothing wrong with that, but you won't find many like minded folks who truly enjoy Pontiac's and its history. We aren't your average car guys and honestly I put Pontiac guys on the same level of Mopar guys. Both hard core enthusiasts are into the rarity, production numbers, and brand specific stuff.
I'm sure my post will be deleted, but I'm in hopes you will get a chance to read it in time before it does and will help shed some light as to why you feel you are being attacked.

Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
Sounds good man. I agree. So let's just move on. Do u have any mods in particular u wanna do to the car?

Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
I am picking up an extra blower tonight. Want to port it and look into thermal coatings like swain tech coatings. Going to call them up. I have a few coatings on my Jag love the stuff. I don't mind spending a few extra bucks. Calling comp cams may custom spec a cam. I absolutely love this cam Lingenfelter GT2-3 in my lsx stuff. I want 207/220 blower spec not sure of the rest the specs maybe on .512/.512 115 something like that on a streetable ramp rate. Want an emblem too EMBLEMPROS.COM - GM LICENSED AND CUSTOM VEHICLE EMBLEMS - CUSTOMIZEABLE TEXT LS4 'ZR1' STYLE STAINLESS STEEL & ACRYLIC EMBLEM

What blower did you get? GenIII or newer GenV or something else?
The GenV wouldn't really need porting or new coatings, just a intercooler to be stupid efficient.
A GenIII would need some work and probably a full rebuild depending on condition, and need a intercooler to be relatively efficient.

Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
Ok guys, if you haven't, read through the entire thread before posting again. No more posts about buying the strobes, or why he removed the NASCAR decals. Seriously, the horse is dead. Bill deleted a round of posts, and now I will. Respect evand's decisions, he's already answered the why more than enough. Evand, I apologize about the behavior of some of our members.

Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
Wow 3 pages in and camo is still badgering him about the damn strobes, I think you should post a ton of pics of them and make a video of them on just to tease him.
Seeing pics of your car really makes me want to repaint mine.

Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
And these cars love cams, really open them up. Do you ever plan on adding in an intercooler? Some day when I have tons of money I'm gonna get one for my car.

Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
It looks good to me.
Honestly I read the post about a Grand Prix pace car being in a museum and laughed.

Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
hey you should change the thread title to something different

Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
I'm not sure you're going to be able to whip M3's. A g8 might be able to but not a grand prix. Unless you fully build the motor.

I saw a few members here running mid 13. Which looks doable to me.
intercooled yes. Looks like the only way to reliably prevent KR.
I hate the e85 guys. I am a little jelly. No e85 around here.

Re: Killing the pace car, My build.
Yeah but an M3, isn't running mid 13s

Real world M3 run mid 13's on street tires all day. I ran many of them at the dragway. They always line me up against them when I bring this to street night in this. Deep into the 12's they saw taillights. arden full custom exhaust.http://imageshack.us/a/img707/4699/photo11xmw.jpg

GenV blower, intercooler, decent cam, few supporting mods for then and you could chase down M3s.
