I thought the motor was pretty darn clean to begin with until I pulled it and realized it was filthy. I've got an 01 GP GT for a winter beater and I couldn't imagine trying to clean that one up!!! The machine shop sent the heads and block back in plastic bags looking brand new but for all other parts its a LOT of brake cleaner and elbow grease. The fuel rails are polished best that I could and everything else has been painted. Now that its looking good I'll work hard to keep it that way plus make a few more cosmetic improvements (strut tower sway bar and a few shiny bolts here and there) I'd like a polished Gen 5 and fuel logs in the future to top it off.

Only the Gratiot and Woodward cruises the past two years. If you know of some shows post up and well meet there. I always enjoy looking and talking about cars.

2.8 and you don't need an intercooler? Still running premium or did you switch to E85?

*Oops, just saw the E85 tune part in your sig.

Have you taken it to a dyno or the track yet?

yeah dyno tuned at intense with the 2.8 and e85. 277 hp and 392 trq. I installed 1.7 roller rockers after the dyno so its a little higher now but we need to port the m90 and lim to get above 300

Damn that's alot of torque! So you can destroy almost anything off the line now as long as you get traction right?

I understand the extreme energy gets more torque than some of the longer duration cams. The car is a ton quicker than with the 3.2 and premium tune but we don't get on it out of the hole too much in fear of breaking the input shaft. Its a stock trans with 110000 so a built trans is in the near future lol e85 fuel really is amazing in charged induction motors though. it reduces kr a ton

These motors always had more torque than hp to start with. New cars are the opposite... My GMC terrain has 270 hp but only 240 torque and its so slow out of the hole. Smaller high reving motors are not much fun to drive imo. After driving the gtp I hate to drive our other dd cars

I know. That is just a massive number though! At least for a car like that!
