No, this is the first thing I've done that hasn't been. That's kind of why I'm posting it on here.

Has anyone here actually racecross'ed their GTP? I have and I can easily say that I keep up with the cobalts on the pavement. Power on pavement with summer minded all seasons was a bit low stock, so I could easily see a 3.4 pulley setup offering much more.

In terms of rally cross, I have raced my TBSS more than a few times, and I can say the extra weight is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. The bonus to extra weight is the fact that you can transfer it to the wheels you are getting traction with, and the more weight you put on those wheels the faster you go. The small cars have problems putting down power when they cant maintain transfer through corners because they are so light and have little braking to do.

Also, assuming you are not trying to compete in some super serious rallycross leauge or something, there is plenty of fun to be had in having a "crap car" out there because it makes doing well reflect well on the driver more so than having a trick car. Now that I have ~10 rally/autocross events under my belt with all 4 of my cars, I have been able to completely demolish "noobs" in "fast" cars with my junk...

Unlike drag racing, just getting out there and racing is fun, and honestly out of the 4 cars I have the GTP is second in fun only to my full out turbo CRX with autocross rubber on 13x10s.

I'll try to remember to bring my camera. Btw I haven't done a single modification to the car yet. It's gonna be bone stock for this race.

Take the first few races to get used to it, and find where your shortcomings are. The biggest part of racing is having the right wheel and tire package.

Honestly who cares what car you drive, if you're doing it for fun then keep doing it.

This thread is getting a lot of hate for no reason. I rallyxed my $800 Regal GS last year, and spanked everything in the 2wd class, and a lot of the awd subies as well. With the right tires, these things will out accelerate pretty much anything else that gets rallycrossed. The SC is nice on a short track, as I had boost whenever I wanted it. The turbo cars weren't getting into boost until the end of the straights right before they had to let off for a corner. It was not the best at tight corners, but with good driving and left foot braking, I could easily get the car to rotate. It was probably the most fun I've had rallycrossing. I've also rallyxed a 87 audi 4000 Quattro, and my old 90 Audi Coupe Quattro. Both were far slower and I was not competitive.

There is this dude that used to rallyx a trashed n-body Grand Am and kicked everyone's ass.

I'm honestly thinking of getting another beater regal, putting police Impala springs on it and a skid plate, and making it my dedicated rallyxer..

    So suck it, haters.

Outonthetiles apparently didn't read that camojunk is planning on doing this with stock wheels, tires and suspension...

I did. I did this with stock wheels, cheap used winter tires, and stock suspension. Car had 160k+ miles on it and had been neglected and almost totalled when I got it. Nothing broke and it held its alignment, which is better than I can say for anything else I've rallycrossed. When you start putting aftermarket parts in a rallyx car you start making it expensive to fix.

Tell me some more reasons why he shouldn't rallyx his GTP, and I'll tell you more reasons why you're wrong.

    In rallyx, FWD>RWD every time.

    Results from my race: http://cny-scca.com//rallyx/results/...5_combined.pdf

Take a look at my time and compare it to the others, and this was my first RallyX ever. The car was seriously (and surprisingly) fast. Many confused looks on the faces of Subie drivers when they got beat by a ratty Buick.
