Hey you did turn signals on this car iirc. How did you go about getting the mirror glass out from the plastic that it was glued into? I feel like I am going to break mine. lol

very carefully, thats how, i pushed the glass out via the holes in the back of the plastic part.

when my regal grows up, it wants to be just like Bills regal.

Ive got a thread going on the issue but I feel like there has to be a better way. It seems like the mirror glass is just going to break. The other problem is how would you hold it while you do it?

Plastic on the mirror was big enough to get my fingernails on. Then like Scott said. I pushed pretty firmly, but slowly..that way I felt the silicone (looks like what they used) start to release.

The Regals have heated mirrors, GP's are put together the same though. See the spot on the upper left..that's where the silicone was holding

YOu can see that plastic edge

And why it's all worth it

Alright. Guess Ill keep trying that. Do you think that using a heat gun would help in getting it apart? Also did you drill the holes all the way through? If so what did you use to cover the holes to prevent water from getting in?

I'm going to suggest you look up and follow the How to on it. Should have all your answers. If not that'll stall you long enough for me to run away. lol

Awesome job. The rear view mirror in my car is kinda....dead lol. How did you make the Nissan homelink mirror fit and get the compass to work? I have a 99 grand prix.

Black, I bought the mirror off Ebay after figuring out which Gentex mirror I wanted. Searched based on part number. It came with the connector. From there, I looked up standard power/ground on ours and the position because they are Gentex as well. It was pretty easy because they had red/orange for the power wire and black with maybe a white stripe as a ground. Being only 2-3 wires, it was cake.

Ryno.. I really hate the headlights from a look perspective. A buddy did them for me and did some vacuum molded plastic situation for the front. Then covered the back of the projects (sticking out of housing) with dynomat. It's very ugly, and very functional. At this moment DeMonte1997 is working on the other parts I had picked up to do a set. Then my buddy handed these to me and ...well I didn't have time to play with them yet. So Rick is the man to talk to..however keep in mind, these are on a regal.
