Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
The load issue has gradually been getting better, it's hardly noticeable anymore, I think I have a small vacuum leak. Have you checked for any vacuum leaks? How old is the gas in it? I'd pull the plugs and check\clean them and minimum, since it sat so long. Same with injector cleaner, run some through it, a heavy dose.
When I bought my car the DIC didn't work, and it ended up being a bad ground on the battery itself, have you disconnected the battery and cleaned the connections?
Basically the point I'm getting at is to perform all the maintenance you should to a car that has been sitting fro 2 years, and see if the issue is still there. Oil change, gas, fuel filter, injector cleaner, clean connections, all that kind of fun stuff.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
On a side note, I'm planning a different type of mod...I'm going to try and add auto up\down to the passenger side front door, auto up to the driver door, auto down to the rear doors (don't want the kids rolling it up with the hands in it or anything), and auto close for the sun roof. I have the parts list I need to do it all, now I just need to figure out the wiring and adapting it all into my car. Should be a fun, cheap, and unique project.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
I did check for vacuum leaks with brake cleaner. there doesn't seem to be any. I sprayed a lot around all the vacuum lines and the idle didn't change at all. The mechanic I brought it to says its the lower intake manifold gasket which he said it would be like $700 including parts and labor. That would also include new plugs and wires but if it was that, shouldn't it be doing that all the time and not just under boost? I noticed today that when its wot, it goes away, its only under low boost between 2500-4000rpm. The gas that was in it when I parked it 2 years ago has been thru the system already and I didn't have any problems with it. its probably been thru 4-5 tanks of gas since then. Maybe it knocked something out of the filter?
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
I'd change the fuel filter for sure. $700 sounds pretty high for LIM gaskets, you can do it yourself for a fraction of that cost. I haven't had luck with the spraying carb or brake cleaner on things method, I used a smoke test to find my leak. I pulled the hose\check valve off the brake booster, and put a new hose on the check valve. Then I pulled the intake tube off of the TB, and put a glove over the TB to seal it off. Then I lit up a Black and Mild cigar and started blowing the smoke through the hose I connected to the check valve of the brake booster. I kept doing that until I saw where the smoke was coming from.

I have the next week off, and I'm getting an early start at it. Last night I pulled the rims off the car and cleaned them\sanded them down. Today I painted 2 of them, and finished prep work on the other 2. Tomorrow I'll finish them up, bleed the brakes again, and check my wheel sensors. If I have time, I'll goto the JY tomorrow, if not, it'll be Tuesday. Here's some pics of the finished rims, tires look like crap from all the cleaning, I'll put some shine on them tomorrow:

Dang that paint looks sweet, what did you use?

Take some black spray paint and paint your wheel wells.. It makes a huge difference.. I've used the 1$ cans from Walmart and never had an issue..trust me you'll love it
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Will do, thanks for the idea!
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Post pics.. We love pics haha
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Good day at the junkyard, picked up 5 auto-down modules for the windows (will do the sun roof later), 2 front door panel lights for the rear door panels, and a Pontiac emblem for another project. Now I just need to work out the wiring details of these modules and I'll have Auto-down on all 4 doors and Auto-up on the front doors. Since I was in Springfield I went ahead and bought some LEDs for the rear door lights (that I got at the JY), should make it pretty bright in there at night, lol.

And now for Wiring...
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
I might turn this into a write up, since I'm actually putting together some schematics...
So far I have the driver side door done, next up is the Passenger door, and then the rear doors.
Stock on the left, Auto-up on the right.

Just finished the Passenger Door:

Now I just have to ACTUALLY do it...
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Passenger rear door is done, and the auto-down works great! Took awhile to figure out what wire went where and all that, I'm sure the other doors will go quicker. I lubed up the window track while I was in there, and fixed\replaced the light housing and LED bulb in the door panel. It's MUCH brighter with another LED back there. I love it. I'll get pics of the other rear door, along with the 2 front doors since they will both be a little different.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Okay, rear doors are done, for now at least. Front Passenger is also done for now, but the front driver is untouched. This is for 2 reasons, it's 5AM and I'm f*cking tired. That, and one of the one touch modules had a bad capacitor, so it doesn't work. I'm gonna see if radio shack has a replacement tomorrow, and go from there. Anyways, I took pics and a quick video, remember, it's 5AM and I've been listening to music for the entire project, so my battery is a little low in the video.
Rear:

2 Modules for the front passenger (one for up, one for down):

And a very dark video for it all, with a sleep deprived narrator:

Oh and all connections are soldered, except for those grounds of course, I'll go back later and solder those. Eventually I'll be running a +12v ACC to the other 3 doors so I can utilize the auto up\down feature while the lock out switch is on, and to bypass the lockout switch or the passenger side front.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Pretty sweet mod on the windows
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
Rims are done, just waiting for the paint to get good and dry. I also fixed the one touch module, will install later tonight, along with clean the wheel wells really well. I'll paint it all when I get new struts.
One thing I 'm torn on is these 04+ needles I have in front of me, I'm not sure if I should install them or not.
Re: 2000 GTP...and so it begins...(LOTS of PICS)
I love my 04+ needles

Nice mods man. Do the Needles!
You'll love it. Just remember where your old needles are pointing before you take them off. Don't let them rest on the pins, they will not be right when you install the new ones.
And remember to trim the speedometer needle on the point and about 1/8" from the shaft that has the hole in it. (Not sure what it's called) lol
