the tranny is out right now, when i bought it , it tore the tranny out on a 40 mile drive home about a mile from my house. so i put a new one in and drove it for a week then it went out again. so i have currently found a used tranny for $150 im considering on buying.

then it would look the same pretty much as any other grand prix, how about like black? and the two red luvers in the i was thinking about turning into ram air with two air intakes faced directly into each luver so air is being froced straight in the intake. but yes some people have liked the red while others have told me it needs to go.

Nice ride, heavy D might have some competition, I like the older GTP badges on the doors. Need some sunny pictures though.

I think if you panted the red parts black, wiper arms/blades white or black, remove the blasted door badges (nobody cares that its a GTP, its the whine that thrills people), paint the lower front/rear fascia black, and then tint the windows...

    ...it would be worlds better.

Don't turn the louvers, don't try for ram air, if you want ram air you need to get a proper ram air hood and the SLP ram air box so it actually functions the right way. Besides, ram air actually doesn't make a difference until 120mph+ and the GP will likely never see that so the point is moot. Just build a solid short ram intake, put a bigger filter on and call it a day. Use the louvers as heat extractors so you don't cook everything under the hood.

    Oh, and

thanks texastanker and TL thanks for the advice its highly appericated, yah i think black will probly look alot better because it wont stand out as much but its still there if that makes since. and so my gtp has a performance shifting button, do they all have that if so will modding the engine/tranny ect. effect that. also im consedering buying xp cam, is2 heads, 3.4in pulleys and a dhp 1.2cpm flash and running dual borola (R) mufflers. im also buying a used tranny for $150 ive done tore two out of the car one while on my way home from picking up the car it was 40mile drive and the other a week later so i would like to prevent that from happening again are there any ideas that are remotely easy/cheap to beef up the tranny alittle bit. thanks responders

In your list I see no headers. You will want headers. No flow means chipped pistons, and then you will be replacing the motor AND trans.

Some reading material since you want to throw money at it.

Now as to the Perf Button. Most have it, basically all it does is send a signal to the computer telling it to increase line pressure a bit for firmer shifts, adjust the shift points, and I think it may adjust the a/f trim a little. Not alot of work going on but a little. Once you get a proper tune it will make worlds of difference in the way the car feels and drives, best is to have a proper dyno or better a solid in car driving custom tune. Each car is different and mods affect cars differently so a canned tune will work but not the best.

Regardless, the trans is weak. Always weak. Unless you spend the bank and throw in a proper built racing trans, most will be weak and those mods will trash one if you're careless. Even the GXPs with the 5.3L v8 got a weak sauce trans, so there isn't really an option for an upgrade without spending some money and getting a proper one. If you know how to build one or want to learn, buy a spare, piece the parts together, you can get alot of better parts individually from the sale threads and put one together, and have a solid stock one in-case something goes wrong.

my car is not worthy of asking that. no seriously, I have a bad tune and the car is not at its full potential, I can't even get out of 14s with this car. but in due time, I look to see improvement.
