    The beginning:

Suspension pulled and stock brackets removed:

Front fenders pulled and in the scrap:

    Front suspension mocked up:

    Rear suspension mocked up:

A preview of things to come:

Hydraulic steering is next along with new custom axles. Going to get the tubing bender fired up in a couple of weeks and fab up the cage and exo-skeleton.

The FABTECH kit is designed for the stock axles, so making a jig for the new customs will be pretty simple. Gears, t case, trans are all still in the planning stage. I am dropping in my 410 small block Chev engine that dyno'd at 606 crank HP.

Are you going to be using AFR lockers?

I like how you went with the better suspension.

    For sure on the lockers.

Ya, the FABTECH crawler kit seemed like a good one. I didn't get the Dirt Logic Coil -overs though. Now i regret it.

    Good call on the Atlas.

Is this thing going to be street legal?

Nope. Tried the street/trail gig with my 79 Bronco and racked up paper from unfriendly law enforcement. So it will be on the trailer when pavement is required for travel

Fun thing about toys is breaking and fixing them without worry of having to make it to work the next day LOL.

    That is so true.

I got a good friend who is SERIOUS into rock crawlers and hinted at a 4 wheel steer upgrade. His rig is a beast. Seen it do some insane sh*t

Absolutely on a winch. Looking at a couple of options. Pretty much sold on a receiver mount on front and rear. I buried my Bronco deep and had nothing solid to winch out forward. Plenty of stuff behind the rig to hook up to though. We ended up cutting down a tree and buried it. Used it as a anchor. Worked but we spent hours drinking beer...I mean getting that rig out of the bog....lol

Nice Jeep. Did you get it from Davey's Jeep? I have an 81 CJ that I have had for about 12 years. Wheeling is a blast.

Are you going to highline the hood or go with Tube Fenders?

Did you shave the 14 bolt?
