Lol ended up wit some cheapos for now, $20 shipped off ebay for two, xentec or something. Realized i spent a lot of money this week n haven't worked last two days n prob tomorrow. As long as they last for now n ill have a spare now too. If they do me good then good, if not ill have to pick up some better ones in the future. I didn't wanna spend another 50-90 on some good ones right now, trs are 110! :th_eyepopping:

Car is looking awesome.
And a word of advice: Spend the money on good ballasts. You will prolong the life of your bulbs by avoiding flickering (which the Xentecs will inevitably do), startup time will significantly faster, and if you buy something like 3Five's from TRS, they come with a warranty.
I know it sucks spending the money now, but down the road, you will thank yourself. Trust me on this.

Disappointed in stock replacement brakes broham!
Those Xentec will do for the time being remember he's only running those Morimoto bulbs not the pricey Philips/CBS etc bulbs that are $70+ he"ll be fine.

Now if he had better bulbs I would tell him to order either oem (denso etc) or some Morimotos

Thank you sir. I just didn't wanna dish out the money right now lol. But yeah I hear ya n understand that. Mine I had in now would take a few seconds to light up with my old hids. N the ones I ordered have a warranty lol who knows how well they back that though. I just wanted them fast. I literally just finished the retros just now and now I have to wait to have ballasts to even put them on:th_doh:

Haha good to hear about the xentec good. N yeah it's my first retro so well see how they work out n any things better than stock! Besides my old 12k's lmao. N hey man the same pretty much size I figured, just another piston isn't worth 200 extra. My cars not that fast as it is n I'm only dropping a pulley so ill be alright for now. When I got bread I want vettes. Was gonna settle for impala s for now but thought about it n I'm cool with this! Haha. Ill make you proud one day, don't give up on me now haha

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Retrofit En Route(Lowered, Rims & Aeroforce)
If something needs replacing = easy excuse to upgrade :) that's how I justify buying ****.
For example...my stock needed new rubber (they were the original manuf tires) instead of just getting new rubber..perfect excuse to upgrade to 18s

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Retrofit En Route(Lowered, Rims & Aeroforce)
I'm pretty sure I did that on just about everything I bought for the car lol. Just ordered a starter for it and that was a stock replacement very shocking.

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Retrofit En Route(Lowered, Rims & Aeroforce)
Alright now, finally got these bad boys done. Now just waiting on the new ballasts.
Went to the hobby shop n got some silver paint to hide this a bit. Still shows a little but looks better than how it was. Then I realized with the mini gatling shrouds, they screw on from the back lol. Well screwed that up, so I just took remainder jb weld n broke of toothpicks n stuck em thru the screw holes n let them sit n dry for a few. Then put the rubber butyl lined throughout the sides and baked em for 15 mins at 220 again. Grabbed em out and pressed the clips together n sealed it all up. Hopefully it goes good n no holes, I used quite a bit of glue so I'm hoping it'll be okay.

Sealed the hell out of the back with the rubber cap as well as silicone. Did a bead along the circular part too to try n help

all set finally!

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Retrofit En Route(Lowered, Rims & Aeroforce)
Looking good. I wouldn't worry about the jb weld. It's yours first retrofit so there's bound to be some kind of mistake. Now get them on the car and whore us with pictures.

Re: Red 2006 Grand Prix GT Supercharged Retrofit En Route(Lowered, Rims & Aeroforce)
They should as long as you didn't mess with the headlight adjuster and marked the halogen cutoff properly. One of the reasons I recommended not going overboard with the jb weld until you make sure they are where you wanted em :) but hey who listens to the black guy nowadays
