Alright so came across a problem sound, I'm hoping its my cuppler being bad, but I'm not sure here it is VID_20130824_234443_zps9abcfc91.mp4 Video by stwvw91 | Photobucket
Leave the belt off (super charger) and start it up. If the noise is gone then that is the problem. Either way, there should be no play at all. Keep in mind, the pulley will still turn without the belt on, just not very fast. Since that pulley still turns the noise might be a there a little bit. Mainly, you want to hear the sound change, or go away completely. If the sounds is still there, take your longest 3\8" ratchet extension, put one end on the snot of the S\C (farther away from the belt, close to where the coupler is on the inside), and put your ear on the other end of the extension. This will amplify the sound A LOT, and it'll help you track the sound down quite a bit.
I think that it would be the coupler if there is any play at all, but all that was just for the next step, just in case you need it.
take the sc belt off, turn the sc pulley back and fourth, like snap it back and fourth, if its got play you'll feel it.
then fire it up, could be the sc bearings if the coupler is tight.
You gonna cut out your LIM? As far as the adapter plate, I was pretty disappointed with my ZZP plate, one of the mounting holes wasn't threaded all the way through and the threads that were there were really rough. Wbodystore's is cheaper, and basically the only other alternative, but I haven't seen one of their plates to compare to mine. Mine worked, but since it was the more expensive plate I thought the quality would be a lot better.
Gen V gasket (freakin $40 gasket BTW! ) on Gen III LIM:
Also, don't forget about drilling\tapping your stock TB for the PCV line. I had to do it on mine and it's really easy, just take your time and don't rush. If you feel like the tap is getting too tight, back it off, lubricate it, and go a bit further.
Remember your part is only as strong as the last bolt you forget to remove.
Gasket to the supercharger now what do I need to do to make this work on my 98, and can I use a cheap pulley puller from az to swap the 3.4 from the 98 onto this one?
You'll need an adapter plate from ZZP or Wbodystore to use your original throttle body, you'll need to mill your LIM to fit the bigger outlet of the S\C, and you'll need to drill\tap your TB to accept the PCV. Do you have a pic of this metal gasket? I haven't seen a metal one before, it'll need some sort of silicon or something to seal correctly.
